I write in Romanian so I use ăĂîÎâÂșȘțȚ, but they look super weird in my courses - regardless of font. I've changed fonts from Merryweather and Lato to Monserrat and Robot (2 verified fonts that use diacritics with no issues) and the issue is still present.
Is this something on your side? Do I need to use different fonts?
Really sorry the diacritical marks do not appear correctly – let's get that sorted! Good idea on starting a support case. My teammate, Gren, is having a look at this behavior now, so you should hear back from her shortly.
I'll also follow along and share updates here, as needed!
Circling back here to note that we were able to replicate the diacritical mark not displaying properly issue and have it logged as a potential bug. I've added this post to the report so that we can keep you posted on the progress.
If you're uploading the course to Web or LMS, a current workaround is to download the Lato font > export the course to LMS/Web > replace the original Lato font with the newly downloaded Lato font.
Thanks for letting us know about this – we'll be here if you need anything else!
An issue was identified with accented characters (also known as diacritics). The built-in Rise fonts don’t include non-Latin characters, so accented characters might not look the way you’d expect.
The good news being, you can download the full font set from the web, then upload it to Rise to get those characters to display as expected.
Hi! Does anyone has any news on this? Because I even upload fonts and the diacritics still are displayed the same way even if the font HAS the correct character.
Hi there, Karina. Thanks for letting us know you've tried to use a custom font, and that you're still seeing issues with how your characters display. I see you have a case open with my team. Great move - we'll do some testing and get back to you with next steps.
Hello, I'm currently also having this issue - I'm using a custom font, but some characters with diacritics are displayed incorrectly (they're actually displayed, but the letters have different size or look a bit strange).
Has the issue been addressed? Is there a solution to this?

Hi there, Matouš! One of our community members offered some helpful advice here. Can you try that method and let me know if it works for you?
