I would like to embed a video in Rise, from Vimeo. However, I don't see any option to display that video's description. Vimeo itself doesn't allow me to display it either.
Is there an option to display an embed video's description in Rise, like right under the video? In there something to add in the iFrame code?
I have used the URL and checked to show the Metadata, but nothing seems to show.
Does setting the video to private, or whatever the option to not have the video show on Vimeo, restricts it from displaying the description? I also noticed that the thumbnail doesn't appear when I enter the URL.
Yes, it sounds like the privacy setting is preventing the metadata from showing in Rise 360. Would you be willing to share that Vimeo link we our team so we can test it from our side?
If that works for you, you can share it privately by clicking here.
I have tested both a public and a private video, each being restricted to specific domains. While I don't feel comfortable sharing the exact link, I can tell you that for the "Who can watch?" option, the private video is set to "Hide this video from vimeo.com", compared to the public video being set to "Anyone".
Would it be possible to copy-paste the description into a text block under the video? You could get the text closer to the video with 0 padding on the bottom of the video block and 0 padding on the top of the text block.
That is exactly what we ended up doing. Please do note that this wasn't a problem at all, since we could edit that block as we saw fit. Both the title and description were clean.
However, I did have to signal the problem that a private video's description doesn't show, even if the Show Metadata option is checked. Yes, there was an easy workaround, but it is still an issue that Rise doesn't detect video descriptions unless the video is public.
Hi there, Alexis. There isn't a way in Rise 360 to edit the metadata, but you can disable it from showing and add your own description as Holley suggests!

Hello, Jean-Christophe!
Are you using a multimedia embed block? If so, try inserting only the Vimeo URL into the field (not an iFrame code).
Then, you'll have the option to display metadata. Your video will look something like this, with a description below the video!
