email links not working
Nov 23, 2017
I have added an email link, for example: mailto:firstname.lastname@company.com into Rise. In the editing area the link works.
When I switch to preview mode, the link tries to open the company.com website and http:// has been added to the syntax.
When I switch back to editing mode and edit the link, the http:// has been added to the syntax.
I can't find any answers to this seemingly simple issue so I am appealing for help!

try using an url shortening service instead
Hi Phil,
Can you explain a bit more about what you mean?
If you add your mail to link to a service like this https://goo.gl
and then paste that url into Rise it should work
Hmmm...tried it and no dice. It just links to the company website again. If I remove the http:// bit it says it can't create a short version.
I don't understand where the http:// bit is coming from. A mailto: link should work, and it looks to me like the syntax is correct.
I used tiny.url here

Works for me.
At the moment the URL is expecting to have http:// so is adding it, you cannot remove it.
Okay, thanks Phil. That seems to work.
Very much appreciated!
Phil: I tried your solution, but the link still opens a website instead of opening the email application. Any other suggestions?
Hi Ted!
Do you have an e-mail client installed? As you can see from the link that Phil shared above, this would be the requirement. Does the course/link above work for you or does that just open a website as well? That would be the red flag. Hope that helps :)
We do have a feature request in for the mailto feature and I have attached this thread as we track the requests.
