GIF's don't animate on iPad - Rise

I have a Rise course thatI just created recently that contains several GIFs, as the image next to text. They function fine in Preview on my computer, But when I published the course, they do not play on the iPad. They only animate if I'm scrolling up or down. If I stop scrolling, they stop animating. Has anyone else run into this issue? I have other courses that contain GIFs that work just fine.
