I don't understand why the quality of images I upload is so bad in Rise. They look fine in browser, but when I upload (and Rise compresses/crunches them) they get fuzzy, pixly and unprofessional.
I upload i png, have also tried jpg - with much worse results. Any ideas? Attached an image showing what I see in Rise v. local browser.
I have a proposed solution - get rid of your image compression entirely. I think most designers are aware of image types to use, how to keep the file size small, etc.
This image compression seems to be an ongoing issue that Articulate can't seem to figure out. This indicates to me that they are playing a space they should probably stay out of if 2 years later, the best solution is to bypass it with _NOPROCESS_.
I would rather just manage my image sizes (which I do anyway), than put _NOPROCESS_ in front of all of my file names.
People here have expressed the importance of image quality, and that expectation has only increased over the past year with so much more learning happening online.
HI Vibhu, sorry to hear that there is no improvement after adding _NOPROCESS_ Would you be able to share a screenshot? If the image is confidential, you can privately share it with us by opening a case here so that we can investigate.

Is this still what you should do to get better image quality on your uploaded images in Rise? It does not work for me even though I changed the name of the file and the file is not larger than 5 GB.
Hi Martina! I'm sorry the _NOPROCESS_ workaround didn't work for you! Would you mind sharing a copy of the image you're trying to improve? You can send it privately by clicking here.
We'll test it from our side and let you know what we find!
You can opt-out of image optimization on a case-by-case basis by adding _NOPROCESS_ to the name of your image file. For example, office.png would become office_NOPROCESS_.png. The image upload and display exactly as you saved it.
Hello! Is there an improvement for the poor quality images that result after being uploaded in Rise 360? Any images I've included in the interaction feature Tabs and Accordion using tip mentioned above (_NOPORCESS_) to the file name, the screenshots that are still unclear and blurred, significantly lowering the quality of the experience. Before uploading the screenshots into Rise 360, the images are clear. Please assist!
The word you need to add is "_NOPROCESS_", please make sure this is spelled correctly and that there are no special characters in the file name.
Next, please make sure the image you are using is not smaller than the image is in Rise. It could be the image is too small and is being stretched out. Please use an appropriately sized image. If you still have trouble, please let us know and send a copy of the files here.
SAME PROBLEM I have images - pngs, PDF and jpgs and everything I upload looks very poor. I have tried everything I know along with the recommendation from Rise and the results are unacceptable. The images themselves when view on my mac is crisp. This issue really needs to be worked on!
4 years and still no fix for this? _NOPROCESS_ MAY improve some images (slightly), but if there is text on that image, it is still unacceptable. We are getting close to dropping Articulate 360 for another program due to this issue. Please fix!
Hello. I am experiencing this issue when I upload screen shots or anything with text. What's the update on the now 3 year old "fix" that is being developed?
Great work here and Rise is such a promising product.
I have an issue with Cover Photo. I have researched most places but cannot get a solution. I cropped the image to 1:3, file size is < 5 mb, added _NOPROCESS_ at the end of the file name. Rise has squashed and stretched the image when uploaded (please see attached).

Not a significant improvement even after adding the _NOPROCESS_ for me. Does anyone else face the same?

Hi,
I sent you one of the images that I am having problems with.
Images are still pixelated, was this solved? Is there a compression issue?
Hi Angela!
You can opt-out of image optimization on a case-by-case basis by adding _NOPROCESS_ to the name of your image file. For example, office.png would become office_NOPROCESS_.png. The image upload and display exactly as you saved it.
If that doesn't work, please send your file our way! We'd be happy to take a closer look.

Hi Taryn! Thanks for reaching out!

Hi Luis!
Have you tried adding _NOPROCESS_ to the image file name before uploading? This tells Rise 360 not to compress the image file.
A file named boat.png would become boat_NOPROCESS_.png
Hope this helps!
I am having the same issue. Here is my photo attached
Hi Joanne, I've renamed your file to LOGO_NOPROCESS_.png please try using this file and see if this helps!

Hi all,
I am having the same problem with the image quality in Rise - does the _NOPROCESS_ workaround still work?
Hi Alyssa
Great work here and Rise is such a promising product.
I have an issue with Cover Photo. I have researched most places but cannot get a solution. I cropped the image to 1:3, file size is < 5 mb, added _NOPROCESS_ at the end of the file name. Rise has squashed and stretched the image when uploaded (please see attached).
What else can you suggest?
Thanks
Hi Carlisle! For cover photos, the best practice is to choose an image that uses a 16:9 width/height aspect ratio.
