Hyperlinked Images in RISE Storyline Blocks Do Not Work in Modern Player

May 30, 2018

Hey heroes,

I use Storyline blocks a ton in Rise to create the illusion of images that can be clicked. I then hyperlink to various resources either online or just in another course. This strategy works great with what is now called the "Classic" player.

I attempted to publish a Storyline block with some hyperlinks in the new "Modern" player since I like how it interacts in Rise in the "Full-Width" view better than the Classic player. However, whenever I clicked on the links, I got a "This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it." Error.

Just posting this out there in the community as a bug since I am sure others will be running into it soon. My fix was just to continue publishing in the Classic player with all player appearance settings set to 100% transparent until this bug is fixed.

Thanks!

Hi Cameron,

Sorry you're hitting this snag--I'm happy to help!

I created a sample Rise course with a Storyline block that contains hyperlinked images. This Storyline slide is using the modern player with the "Light" theme and controls turned off.

Check it out here.

I'm curious, how do the hyperlinks on your slide behave when you test them outside of Rise? When you view the Storyline slide in Articulate Review, do you see the same error message?
