Issue with Blocks Duplicates
Nov 24, 2016
Hi,
I'm having an issue with the Duplicate Blocks function. Editing a duplicate, recreates the same edits to the original and the other duplicates.
I doubt this was the original intention for duplicates. I'm not seeing the point of using duplicates if I cannot edit one without impacting the original or the other duplicates. :)
By the way, awesome job with Rise! With some more features, I can see it becoming our main tool to design for Mobile training.
Great job! Thanks,

Hey Frederick
Thank you so much for your wonderful compliments about Rise.
We can't reproduce the duplicates issue you described. Are there specific
blocks you are seeing it on? Perhaps you can record a Peek video?
Hey Adam,
Just to make sure, before recording the attached video, I closed Rise and my browser (Chrome), to do a kind of reset. I'm still having the issue as you will see in the video .
Congrats Frederick!
You def found a bug! And it's an icky one.
We will fix this real fast 💨
It's Thanksgiving here so may be next week at the latest.
I'm good at finding bugs. :)
Next will be good, it's not Thanksgiving here, but I did took a long weekend.
Happy Thanksgiving to you guys!
Hi Frederick,
We have fixed the duplicate lessons bug that you found. You will have to re-duplicate any lessons you've already created to see the fix. Thanks for reporting this and please let me know if you still experience problems with it.
Best,
Mike
Great news- I also had this bug. It was happening both ways- editing the duplicate would make the same changes in the original and editing the original would make the same changes in the duplicate.
I just love how fast these bugs get fixed in Rise on the fly!
Good morning Michael,
I just made some testing this morning, and all I'm working properly with the duplicates.
A big thanks for having resolved that issue that fast!
Happy to hear it Frederick - and that's truly one of the beautiful elements of Rise and the subscription model, is how quickly we're able to push out fixes and get them into your hands.
Keep us posted if you run into anything else!
