I'd like to link other lessons in Rise. I see that the button block element supports linking to other lessons in the same course (via the Destination dropdown), but I also want to use hyperlinks in the text to link to other lessons. How can I get the relative URL so I can hyperlink?
Thanks for letting us know you have a need to hyperlink to other lessons within a Rise course. As you mentioned, the Button Block or Button Stack would be the best way to link to other lessons currently. If we add this hyperlinking feature to Rise in the future, we'll let you know!
Is there no way to get the relative URL of a lesson? I need to be able to link to an individual lesson from the web page where my course is launched, as well as link between lessons using hyperlinks.
Is your Rise course hosted on a web server? If so, you can open the lesson you want to link to, and copy the URL in the address bar. That URL will link directly to the lesson.
Keep in mind this only works if you're linking to a lesson from another website or from a separate Rise course.
I haven't seen someone hyperlink to a lesson within the same Rise course, since you would have to set up that hyperlink prior to hosting the content on a web server.
Okay, so I'm trying to create a branching scenario in rise that will allow me to link to different lessons within the same course. If the user clicks one button, he jumps to a completely different location than someone clicking the second button, can I do this in Rise?
Hi James, Yes you can. Above was only re if you are trying to branch to lessons from different Rise courses. If all lessons are within one Rise course, it's all good. Cheers Christine
Currently using buttons is the only way to link to another lesson within the same Rise Course without opening another instance of that course. Would you be up for logging a feature request to tell us more about your specific needs?
In the meantime, if there’s anything else I can do to help, please let me know!
I had this same question. Just put in a feature request. I need to be able to let users "click here to jump to that content" from a text link in a block. :)
This is absolutely essential in my view. There is a whole range of possibilities which I can't exploit due to this limitation. Please add this feature ASAP.
I also raised this as a feature request 10 months ago and it has been slowly gathering support, so hopefully we may see it materialise in the not too distant future.
Is it possible to place a link in the scenario text, linking to a block in the same lesson, ie watch the how to save settings video by clicking here; and the link takes the learner to a video block in the same lesson ( hopefully that makes sense)
May I add my voice to the need to be able to link to specific blocks within the same lesson. Currently having to use Storyline to do this but would love to be able to use RISE instead.
This would be very helpful for us too. I'm trying to create an interactive guide at the start of the course that asks a series of questions and then directs you to the lesson (ideally the block within a lesson) that will help. Thanks in advance!
I would be interested in that feature as well. I'm just in the process of moving content from one LMS onto another and am using RISE as my new authoring tool - there are options the content author had wanted to originally use when building the content that weren't available in our old LMS, but having that feature moving forward would be brilliant learners to keep them engaged for being able to jump around sections/blocks within a lesson.
I will also join all my fellow RISE users with these hope and wishes for the New Year:-)
I'm creating a glossary where I hoped it could be possible to link specific word in text to specific block or module in the same course/glossary, so it could be more interactive. Not possible now:-(
Feature request: Hyperlinking in Rise - Hyperlinking to lessons from a block - Linking to specific blocks within the same lesson
The feature could also be used in the search functionality (which I really like). In stead of just send you to the module and highlighting the word, you could be send to the specific block where the word appear. It could be a setting that could be turned ON/OFF.
Hyperlinking to lessons from any text would be very beneficial. So would being able to to anchor to specific blocks within the same lesson. Is this is the best forum to request that as a feature? thanks.

Hi James
yes - use the Interactive block Button or Button stack options
Thanks Wendy and Christine, solution was staring me in the face and I didn't see it!
I also have this question about linking to a lesson within the same Rise Course and unfortunately the button options won't work for me.

I agree. This would be really useful. And the functionality is already there for buttons, we just need the same drop-down menu for links...
Thanks for the idea, George and Anna!

I also second Elena's request, otherwise it makes for very clunky navigation between lessons.

Come on you lovely Articulate staff, give us an early Christmas present, pleeeeeeeeease !! :) :)

Hi there, Aaron. That isn't possible right now. We are actually tracking requests for two features that might help you:
I'll make sure this discussion gets updated with any changes in those areas!

Thanks for chiming in, Elaine! I appreciate you sharing what you'd like to see in Rise 360!
