SCORM packages are required for use with an LMS, because the files included in the SCORM package make it possible to launch the content and communicate with an LMS. Web-published content is used to host on a non-LMS server or some cloud storage, like Amazon Web Services.
In our LMS, SabaCloud - we can also build a course which can include an URL as an activity. We can put a digital signature on, so that the learner, when trying to close the URLwindow, must answer if he has understood the content. That way, we can document completion of the course. it would be very easy to just put in the share-link from Rise instead of exporting and importing a scormpackage. If there's changes made in the Rise-course, they will also automatically be updated in the LMS. So, what's the arguments for using scorm instead?
Adding onto this one - I am wondering where performance capture is logged on Rise quizzes?
I am trying to work on a program without SCORM packaging. My big challenge is how to capture performance without an LMS. Any suggestions or ideas? I will post to the community as well.
The main benefit of using a SCORM package and an LMS is that you're able to track learner activity. If you simply use a web link, you won't have access to this information.
