I have over 200 videos to convert into SCORM 1.2 for an organisation and they also want me to packagae up the workbooks with the video. Is Rise the best product for this, I have no other eLearning publishing requirements as we only produce videos.
You do not have to convert your video files to use them in RIse.
Rise gives you 2 choices for video:
Upload the actual MP4 video file into Rise so that it becomes a part of the course and published SCORM package.
Host your videos on Youtube or Vimeo, then add a link to the videos in RIse.
If you have 200 videos I would recommend not uploading them into Rise as the SCORM package would be huge.
Option 2 would be a better option for the videos.
Same thing applies to the workbooks: you can either upload them as PDF/DOCX or host them somewhere else. If the workbook files are quite small you can upload them to the Rise course.
