We are looking at answer-level feedback as a part of the ’17 roadmap and course branching is on that list as well. I don't have an ETA for the release yet, but we post updates here in the forums as well as here.
In the meantime, choosing the right tool can be helpful, so perhaps Storyline (as Mike shared in that article) is the way to go for now.
