Rise Closed Captioning Broken

May 20, 2020

Hello,

I was successfully able to add 4 languages to a video I built in Rise.  While editing in Rise, the captions work.  I export out to SCORM and if I dive into the files, there are VTT files in the SCORMCONTENT folder.  All looks well.

Load the SCORM into our LMS and the captions fail to function.  In the player, you can see the CC player control and are able to click it and see the languages loaded in the player.  But upon clicking, nothing happens.

Thoughts, suggestions, fixes?

Hi Adam! I'm sorry to hear the closed captions aren't appearing in your LMS.

Have you done any testing in SCORM Cloud yet?  If so, are you getting the same results? We generally compare the behavior in SCORM Cloud to your LMS experience to try to parse out Rise 360 issues versus LMS issues.

We are happy to help you with that testing if you'd like to share your output file!

I was also experiencing this issue... It works as expected when previewing on Rise but not after exporting (if you preview locally). Looks like it is just a local preview issue however and should work properly when you post to a server or LMS
