Rise course not launching in IE11
Jun 18, 2019
We have a course that was developed in Rise 360 by a contractor and published for LMS (SCORM 2004, v.4 and also tried SCORM 1.2). We use Cornerstone OnDemand for our LMS.
The course launches from the LMS using Chrome. However, when we try launching using IE, we just get the spinning circle of death where it tells us that the course is loading but it never loads. IE is our default browser, so we really need it to work in IE for our users.
Does anyone have any suggestions for troubleshooting?

We use a different LMS and publish for SCORM 1.2 but all our Rise courses do run in IE 11. Not as well as Chrome or Fire Fox but they do run.
Do your other courses have the same problem or is it just this one?
I just found the answer. Apparently is it specific to our LMS. Rise courses only need to be set to a compatibility of "none." We normally publish using Storyline 360 and have compatibility set to IE 10, which works.
I don't know why the difference, but the course is launching in IE now.
Thanks for sharing how you solved it, Christa!
For anyone else following this thread, if Compatibility View is enabled in Internet Explorer 11, your Rise 360 course won't work. Compatibility View mimics Internet Explorer 7, which doesn't have support for HTML5 content. Disable Compatibility View to see your course.
