Rise in SCORM 1.2 in Cornerstone LMS not capturing completions

Mar 25, 2021

Hi, everyone.

We have a curriculum provided by a vendor and the courses in the curr. are all in Rise. The vendor exclusively publishes in SCORM 1.2. (I do not know why. Yet.) The courses are not capturing completion credit for sections within the courses. (For example, when someone watches a video, the course does not recognize that the video has been viewed.)

I worked with a tech from our LMS provider, Cornerstone, and they shared that SCORM 1.2 is not compatible with Cornerstone.

Has anyone else experienced compatibility issues between Rise and Cornerstone when publishing using SOCRM 1.2? Where would you begin to suss this issue?

Thank you!

Laura

I agree with Karl.

Unfortunately, if Cornerstone isn't compatible with SCORM 2.1 then there is no fix except to have your vendor republish into a SCORM version (probably 2004) that Cornerstone can use.

A more technical answer is that the run-time environments of SCORM 2.1 versus 2004 are different. If your LMS is set for 2004, then the communication from SCORM2.1 content won't work.

For example, if you look at the websites below, you'll see the different API calls:
