Screen Capturing Best Practices

May 13, 2021

Hey everyone. I'm using the labeled graphic block to demonstrate clickable interactions of software screen captures. However, the resolution of the screen captures are blurry. I used the Snipping Tool app and saved as a .jpg and used the Snip & Sketch tool and saved as a .png and got blurry results with both. I've used other capturing tools in the past such as SnagIt and Camtasia but haven't tested those out with Rise 360 yet. Any suggestions to get my captures as clean as possible? TIA!

Hi Jon,

Rise compresses image files which causes the blurry images, but you can turn this off:

"If you'd like an image to keep its specific file format and not undergo compression, you can opt-out of image optimization on a case-by-case basis. Just add _NOPROCESS_ to the name of your image file. It'll upload and display exactly as you saved it. Keep in mind that file size limits still apply."
