Simulations in Rise?

Apr 25, 2017

Can this be done? I'm thinking of doing one in Replay.....

I typically do simulations either by creating a Gif (using RecordIt) or using Screencast-o-matic, then uploading it to vimeo, then embedding it in Rise. But it would be interesting to hear what other people do.

I haven't used Peek yet because I don't think there is a way to pull the recording into Rise yet.

Hope that helps.

Cheers!

Hi Lawrence,

Are you looking to demonstrate some steps that the user would need to follow along with?

OR

Have the user watch a demonstration and practice the same steps in a simulated environment?

A video would work great for the first option, and you could record is using Peek. Peek can be embedded in a Rise course (URL/Embed Lesson or the Multimedia Blocks) using the "Share" link once it is uploaded to Review. You can also download the Peek video file to insert it as an MP4.

If the user will need to practice the same steps, have you looked at Storyline's screen recording function for Try/Test mode?
