Strange translations

Feb 04, 2021

I created a Rise course in Dutch. Something strange happened.  Some people in our organisation see strange words. For example:

This is our sentence: Met zelforganisatie organiseren we ons werk platter, directer, vanuit ieders autonomie en met zeggenschap.

This is what some people see:
'Met zelforganisatie organiseren we ons werk schotel, regisseur, vanuit ieders autonomie en met zeggenschap.

Platter sounds like plate en plate can be translate as schotel (in Dutch).

Directer is Dutch but the Englisch word directer means regisseur in Dutch.

How can we fix this?

Hello, Annemarie!

If some people see different translations of words in a course, it could be that their browser is automatically translating the text on the screen. For example, you can adjust how Google Chrome translates text in web pages by following these steps: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/173424

Next time you get a report of this, ask the learner to open the course in a different web browser. Let us know if that makes a difference!
