Internet Explorer isn't a browser that Rise authoring is supported with, and the reasons are based on IE's lack of modern HTML5 support (compared with Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari).
Would your company allow an installation of Microsoft Edge? That would work a lot better with Rise authoring and provide additional enhancements to security for your entire web browsing experience, I imagine your IT team would be on board with that!
Viewing the Rise courses from either a Share link or the exported Web/LMS output is okay in IE11. So your learners shouldn't have any trouble accessing the courses. You can take a look at the full list of supported browsers here.

I have the same problem. Also with the interaction "process" and "timeline".
These blocks have a little a greyish background in comparison to the ones where I can press the edit button.
Hi Aileen and Kirsty,
I was testing myself this AM and didn't have any trouble editing existing lessons or new lessons I added with the shortcut bar.
Can you both let me know what browser you're using? I do most of my testing in Chrome, but Firefox, Safari and Edge should all work for editing too.
Let me know and that'll help guide some more digging into what you're experiencing!
Hi Ashley,
thank you very much for your quick reply.
I am using Internet Explorer. I know Rise isn’t always compatible, but unfortunately we have no other browser at my company…
Might this be the problem?
Is Articulate working on compatibility with Internet Explorer at all?
Hi Aileen,
That could definitely be the culprit. 😕

That would probably work.
Is it possible for the end-users to work from the "normal" Internet Explorer then or will there be problems with the visualization?

Great! Thank you very much for your quick advice. This helps me a lot :)
It worked with Microsoft Edge!! :)
Yay! Glad you're back up and running!
