Using a screen reader with Rise issues

Apr 14, 2022

Hi everyone,

I'm wondering if anyone has had the same issue as our accessibility testers have stumbled across. We have a basic course built in Rise. Essentially Text block, continue button text block. When testing this course with a screen reader (NVDA) the reader reads the Continue button, then you select the continue button and the reader starts reading the next text block in essentially the middle of the paragraph.

I have had something similar happen with Storyline as well so I am wondering if this is a bug? And if it is, are there plans to correct this issue? Please let me know if you have heard any solutions.

Thanks so much! Happy Learning!

Hi Nicole, I did some testing based on the scenario you described, and I didn't encounter any issue with either JAWS or NVDA reading text blocks following a continue button. Would you mind sharing the following information:

1. OS and Browser version where you're testing your course.

2. NVDA version you have installed

3. A screen recording of the issue.

You can share this privately using this form, and one of our Support engineers will reach out to your directly to work with you on this issue.
