We had a very nice short video filmed and when I uploaded it... the landing page for the video looks like this (white with a start arrow. Any way to have a screen capture from the video appear here instead (like 2nd choice below) to engage the viewer more?
My suggestion would be to upload it to vimeo and use their thumbnail feature to either choose a clip from the video or upload your own image. Check out this blog post.
Then, use the "embed" block with the vimeo embed code rather than the video upload block to put it into the Rise course.
This is the way that I've been doing it, but I'm not sure if there are other easier solutions.

We use Vimeo as well. The additional benefit to using Vimeo is that you can update your video without having to republish your course.
Indeed!
In the meantime, Amelia, we'll let you know if we add the ability to choose a poster frame for your video blocks!
