That's a great question! The picture associated with the author is tied to your Articulate 360 account. You can easily hide your name and picture at the lesson level - here's a Peek at how to do that.
You could also look at listing the name of the course author in a Quote Block. There's even a place to add a picture there, if you'd like to include a picture of the author, as well.
Thanks for the reply however that's a band-aid fix. I'm sure many who use or will use Rise fall into the "developer" side of things creating numerous courses for numerous different "authors" or subject matter experts. The picture adds a nice personal touch to the learning. It would be preferable to be able to upload pictures of various authors for courses depending on who you're developing for instead having to eliminate the feature altogether.
All great points Jim, and a spot on feature request that I’ll pass along to the team. Hope the band aid works in the meantime, but if there are any changes to this feature we’ll certainly keep you posted here.
Wanted to pop back in and share an update here. Until now, you've been able to show or hide the author for each individual lesson in a course. And now you can show or hide the author for the entire course all at once. This feature was rolled out in Rise in the latest update, so you've got it right away - for a full list of the release notes take a look at our article here.
I actually just answered a very similar question yesterday right over here! I included a quick video tutorial of how to globally remove the author name and image. The video also shows how to use a Quote Block to add a custom author name and image, or in your case, a company name and logo. And don't forget, you can also add your company logo to the first page of your Rise course in Settings > Theme > Upload Logo.
Thanks, Alyssa. I must have been deleting this and adding it as a separate post just as you were responding!
Unfortunately this isn't happening for me. I hid the author at the course level. When going into the lesson level, it's still showing my name. In preview it's still showing my name. Here's a quick peek: https://rise.articulate.com/share/f4flWgSSfPpXOKPA8pS75OtfWpChVQVQ
Thanks.
ps I'll open a case to have someone take a look at this. Tks.
Thanks for letting me know you opened a case (01038870). I'm interested to see why you aren't able to globally turn off the author picture and name at the course level, so I'm going to follow along. If I get any updates on this, I'll post them here!
