Browser settings for Rise

Oct 12, 2017

Can anyone tell me how to adjust the browser settings for published content through Rise?

I am having an issue with Rise courses on our LMS with the text being too small.  I am trying to replicate the  'Resize browser to fill screen' player functionality found in Storyline.  This appears to work great for what we need.

Any ideas?

Hi Rakesh,

It sounds like the Rise course is opening in a frame within your LMS, and you'd rather it open in a new browser window. Is that correct?

The new window vs. frame behavior is typically controlled by the Learning Management System. As a quick proof of concept, here is a copy of our Employee Health and Wellness course that has been uploaded to SCORM Cloud and configured to launch in a new window.

I'd recommend checking with your LMS support team to see how you can configure this in your environment.  Thanks for trying Rise!

I think this is related?  I am testing my course on SCORM cloud and in IE 11 when it hits a lesson that has a Storyline360 block that contains a video.  The browser suddenly changes size after I click on a Continue block.

Any thoughts?

Update:  The setting was originally  "Player Launch Type=Frameset".

I changed the SCORM Cloud settings to"Player Launch Type=New Window" and "New Window Options = Full Page" and the course ran without changes to the browser size, so it seems to confirm that this is a LMS setting issue.

Changed the setting to "Player Launch Type=New Window" and "New Window Options = Specify New Window Size"  and the problem returned.

I will test again, but I believe the behavior was fine in Chrome.  It is only IE11 causing the problem.

It seems that there must be something on that scene that tells the LMS to change the window size?
