I've tried to find this answer but could not. I do my video editing in Camtasia and then insert the mp4 files into Storyline 2. Can you do the same with Rise?
Just a heads up Paul - it looks like your email signature came through when you replied via email. You can remove that if needed by clicking ‘Edit’ beneath your response. Here’s a quick Peek video if you need help.
My query was this: the university works with remote communities who do not have internet.
Can I copy the course on to someone's computer and have it work without internet?
Kind regards

Absolutely, Offline viewing is supported in Google Chrome, Firefox, and Safari. Just download a Rise course as a web package, extract the zip file, then launch the index.html file. Your users will need to have the copy of the entire zip file on their computer for playback.
Note that embedded web content won't work offline unless you have an active internet connection.
Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge block local playback of Rise courses altogether. You'll just see a blank page in these browsers. To use Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge, you'll need to upload your course to a web server.
I think you talked to my colleague, Katie, earlier today about this! She mentioned walking you through how to add an MP4 file to your Multimedia block.
I hope that helped and let us know if you need anything else!
Sorry to hear you're stuck on inserting video files! Can you let me know the file type you are inserting (or what other ones you tried)? Also, how big was the video you were using? The maximum file size for each video you upload to Rise is 5 GB.
If you're still seeing that error, I'd want to test your video out. Can you share it with me here? Also, let me know what different browsers you were using so I can test in the same environment.
My apologies, I misread that section of your post.
Can you share one of the videos here with us? If you attempted to share that in your email reply to this discussion those attachments won't post here in ELH but your signature did come through. You can remove that if needed by clicking ‘Edit’ beneath your response. Here’s a quick Peek video if you need help.
You can also click here to come back to this discussion and upload the file.
No, there is a size limit of 200MB in our instance of Outlook. It is a standard MP4, less than the file limit advertised on Rise. What are my next steps?
Hey Drew! We've done some testing with standard MP4 files, and we still need your help since we're not running into the same error you are.
You can actually attach your video file directly to the E-Learning Heroes discussion thread. Simply click here to open the thread, then use the Add Attachment button. Thanks!
Thanks for sharing those files, Drew. The maximum file size for each video you can upload to Rise is 5 GB, and both of your videos are under that limit.
That being said, I'm also having trouble uploading those videos to Rise. I'm going to connect with our Support Engineers to see if they can spot why we're having this trouble. Keep an eye out for an email from us soon!

Looks like Wilbert was able to get your file to work by re-encoding the video. I did escalate your case to one of our Senior Support Engineers to take another look and help you out with your path to resolution.
I've uploaded a video into Rise but there's no image available when I import - am I doing something wrong? The video plays fine but there's just a play button on the screen and I was hoping the image of the video would appear when uploaded but it doesn't. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I inserted a screen grab for reference.
Hey, Nicole! I'd love to help, I just need a little more information. What's the size and video type of the file you're uploading? If you can share it here, that'd be even better.
Thanks for that, Nicole. The video block displays an image of the first frame in your uploaded video. In the one you shared, it appears to be that your video starts with a blank white screen. Unfortunately, you can't display a custom thumbnail or starting image for video blocks in Rise 360.

Hi Adam,
Do you have any idea how to embed an imovie into Rise? What's the process? I'd rather do that than use youtube videos.

I get this message every time I upload .mov or .mp4. The only video format that doesn't do this is .m4v (from VLC).
The issue with VLC is that you lose the last 2-3 seconds of audio when converting file types LOL
SOS!

I thought I stated this in my post…? I receive the error message when uploading both .mov and .mp4 files, and they are below the 5GB limit.

Attached are the 2 videos that gave the error message shown above. Thanks for jumping in to help!

They had nothing to say about it, what is the resolution path from here? I can't use the product if I can't add video files to it..

If there steps I can have for future reference I’d appreciate it! Also, will he send me the working videos so I can move my course forward?
Sure Drew :) I'll forward this onto Wilbert so he can share the steps and files with you.

Thank you for getting back to me. I have attached the video file - I'm having the same issue no matter which video I upload.
