COMING SOON TO RISE: Scenario and Chart Blocks
Dec 11, 2018
Today we announced new features and content in Articulate 360 including two new block types coming in Rise.
It’s already stunningly easy to create engaging lessons with the learning blocks in Rise, but soon you’ll be able to create branching scenarios using the images and characters from Content Library. And, we’re adding a chart block that’ll help you create eye-catching charts in seconds.
We’ll update you in this forum when these new features are available. We think you’re going to love them! To learn more about all the new features we’ve announced, check out the What’s New, What’s Next page.

Will you be able to use your own images/characters for the scenario block (as in not from the content library)? I have the idea of using an animated gif character.
I wish there was a beta group for this because I am working on a project right now in Rise that I am stuck on how to do interactive scenarios. :( I'm happy to see that it is being added though :)
Can’t wait for these features, is there an ETA?
Looking for an ETA as well... thanks!
Hi Andrew,
Thanks for your question!
You will be able to upload your own background images, but not characters.
If I can help with anything else please let me know!
Hi Jaret,
Thanks for posting here!
If your project is on a tight timeline I would suggest using Storyline 360 to create scenarios for your course. You can insert them into Rise using a Storyline block.
Here are some ideas for making interactive scenarios for your learners.
If you have any more questions please reach out - I’d be happy to help!
Hi Michael, Gordon,
Thanks for reaching out!
We’re hoping to have these features in your hands by late January. We’ll be sure to let you know here when they are released.
Let me know if you have any more questions!
Fantastic News! Thank you Martika.
Thanks!
Hi Martika
If you can put your own background images in, can you just turn off the characters? We make interactive scenarios based on video scenes we have shot so would need stills of those characters in it for it to make sense with this feature.
Thanks
Nicola
Also, I see you have charts there, but what about tables? They are really missing. We have to do them as images and then they aren't screen reader compatible.
In regards to uploading our own characters, is this something that is likely to be included in the future? Our design team have their own bank of characters we use for our Storyline products. It makes sense for us to use those characters to maintain consistency and branding.
Hi Nicola and Hi Andrew,
Thanks for reaching out!
A Table block is actually already in the works. We hope to have that in your hands in the first quarter of next year.
We don’t have plans to let you remove characters or add your own. With Content Library characters, we can control the precise size and positioning so they’re guaranteed to look good on any device your learners are using.
Please let me know if I can answer any other questions.
this is great news!
Hi, will the charts allow Live data, driven from maybe Survey Monkey or Office 365 Excel/Forms?
Hello all. I would like to ask, how to restrict users from video downloading? Right now with right click any video in the course can be saved to desktop in Mp4 format.
Will the scenario block have audio capacity? Am designing for low-literate learners...
Are there any thoughts to implement voice navigation? Things like next, play, stop, etc.
Any updates to this request?
Hello,
Do you have more precision on ETA on the scenario feature in Rise? We have a project in the pipe (scenario-based) and we are thinking about developing it with SL. But the client would like to have something responsive, so... this feature would be perfect.
Hi everyone!
Thanks for reaching out to us here.
Right now, I don’t have any updates on when this feature will be released or how it will work, but stay tuned! In the meantime, keep an eye on our What’s New, What’s Next page.
Please reach out if I can help with anything else.
Agree, the way I do this now is to create scenarios in Storyline and then insert into Rise using a storyline block.
Hopefully coming soon, I have been holding off completing one module since the announcement came out!
Is there a target date for this happen? "Coming soon" seems a bit unfair and not quite accurate. Thank you for the preliminary information!
Hi Nina!
I'm sorry but I don't have any updates on the timing to share with you here. We're actively working on these features and will release them as soon as they're ready. Thanks for your patience and understanding!
