I am trying to export a Rise course as a .pdf for offline use (instructor guide, etc.) Is there a way to do this? (Similar to the Storyline export to word function?)
You can use the Ctrl + P option to print each page of the course or save it as a PDF. Adam recorded a nice demo of this using Peek here, right around the 1:05 mark. I hope this helps!
Hi Alyssa, thanks for the info, unfortunately this does not seem to be working. It will only show one block or a corner of the page. I have also tried a few pdf converters and a few other ideas shared on here and no luck. I saw Adam's Peek recording and for some reason that won't work for my course (it is built mainly with blocks and it seems to only save or print the first block) any other suggestions? thanks!
It occurs to me that you may not need a PDF. If you’re looking to make the course viewable without an internet connection, I’ve got the answer for you.
Try this:
Export your Rise course for No LMS - Web only
Extract the .zip file
Double click the index.html file to open the course without internet connection
You can also share this .zip file with instructors and have them follow steps 2 and 3. Here’s a quick Peek!
Hello, I tried to export this using these directions and when I click the index button it opens a new browser session but nothing happens. This is the file in the new session:
Sorry you're having trouble! Here's a 1 minute Peek of the steps I listed above. Have a look, and let me know if you see something different on your end.
I couldn't get this to work either. I am using the same settings as Chad. When I export it says that the export is complete and it will be sent in an email to my account. I see where it downloads in the bottom of my screen, but when I followed the steps above, I get a blank page in Chrome also. I never received anything in email either.
Hi there! I see some folks are having trouble viewing the Index.html file from the Rise output folder, so I wanted to share a video that walks you through the process step-by-step.
1. Unzip the presentation folder in (Figure 2).
2. Open the extracted folder and Right click on the index file and select Open with (Figure 2).
3. Select Google Chrome to view the file (Figure 3).
4. The presentation will now open for viewing.
It looks like you tried to share some images here for Lisa - but responding via email won't allow those images to come through. Can you revisit this discussion and upload to the forum using the "Insert Image" or "Add Attachment" options.

Hello,
I followed these instructions (just as I did with the previous instructions) and when I click to open the zipped file nothing happens.

It never worked for me either :-(
It occurred to me that you're probably using a Windows machine, and the process is a little different there. If you're in Windows, try this:
From your Downloads folder...
Let me know if that helps!
Nope, still doesn't work for me either. I extract and the html opens a blank chrome tab.
Hi Chad,
Did you use the No LMS - Web Only option? What version of Chrome are you using - and are you on a Mac or Windows environment?
· Chrome v63.0.3239.84 – 64bit
· Windows 10
· Exporting as web only
o Downloads the package, I double click the html and opens a blank tab.
Thanks!
Chad

Thanks Chad - and just to confirm, you extract the files and click on the index.html file?
I tested the same thing on Windows 10 with that version of Chrome and the file launched.
When I don't extract the files from the zip - I get the blank page, so make sure you're following that step!

I cannot get this to work either
Sorry it's not working for you, Linda! Can you tell me more about what you're seeing on your end?
If you can provide a screenshot of the step that isn't working, that would be even better!

Hi, can someone explain how this was figured out. I'm getting the same blank tab after I follow the video.
1.1. Viewing zipped files from Articulate Rise
1. Unzip the presentation folder in (Figure 2).
2. Open the extracted folder and Right click on the index file and select Open with (Figure 2).
3. Select Google Chrome to view the file (Figure 3).
4. The presentation will now open for viewing.

I finally succeded after I tried to open it with Firefox.
Internet Explorer and Chrome only showed blank pages... Funny, he?
Hi Matthias,
You'll want to check on these two things:
That should allow the course to play locally in your browsers. You'll also want to make sure you're using the latest updates of each browser.
Hi Ashely,
to your questions: yes & yes.
It was a matter of which broswer to choose.
Matthias
Chrome and Internet Explorer should still work for this. If you want to share your exported Rise course here with me, I'm happy to test it!
