Is there a way that I can export the text from my Rise course? Or is this something that I should copy and paste as I go? We usually keep a word.doc of all content to use for our records and for translating purpose.
If you need to keep a copy of all the content for your records, the "Share" link will remain active even if your subscription lapses. Also, you could export the course for No LMS - Web Only and keep that copy for local playback. Here's a quick Peek to walk you through those steps.
Is there a description somewhere that gives details on the different export options? I want to make my new rise course available outside the LMS so that people can bookmark the link for easier access vs. always going into the LMS to find the content. I'm worried that if I shared the link with my participants that the content is available to anyone who has the link vs. being on our company's server when in the LMS.
Great question! There are currently two ways to share Rise courses with learners. You can send them a shareable link or you can export your course as an LMS or web package. All the details can be found here.
Hi - Would the export/import be to word, pdf, or something else?? Thanks! This is a feature we need as well for compliance and for translation. Is this still expected for July 2017?
I suppose the export function for text is delayed. This will really save us time when translating our courses. Is the date close? Thank you for your work.
The translation feature is up next for our team to work on! We’ve got a few other things in the pipeline before that, but once we’re able to share an update on this, we’ll let you know. Thanks for checking in! 😀
Hi Alyssa, Is there any news on when the translation feature will be available, or even just exporting the Rise file to text (word doc or other) for translation purposes.
Hi there, Whitney and Dora. As soon as we can estimate a time frame for releasing this feature, we'll be sure to let you know. Now that you're subscribed to this discussion, you'll get notified when we post an update!
Looking forward to an update about how this feature will work compared to Storyline, as well as a release timeline! We've been wanting to try Rise out for over a year but havent been able to even consider it since it doesn't have an easy way to do translations.
Thanks for checking in, Ashley. This is one of the features up next for our team to work on, so we'll let you know here once we get a scheduled release for this.
Thanks for the update Ashley, as we're also looking for the Rise Export to a Text/Word/Slides file as well as the Translation feature (which we're doing by duplicating and replacing text from English to French right now). Cheers! -Marinko
Adding my support for the export text feature; it will make my life MUCH easier when we have to pull the final English content to send to our translator. Hoping we see this soon!
New: You can now localize a Rise course into other languages. Export text to an XLIFF file, translate it, then import it back into Rise with formatting intact.
Because Rise is a web app, new features and fixes are immediately available, though you might need to export a Rise course again to update existing published output with a new feature or bug fix.
Kelly shared an announcement you can check out here and our Rise Version history can always be found right here.

Hi Amal!
We're working on an export/import feature for translation! It's targeted for Q3 of this year (so sometime July-Sept).
You can export out the course labels for translation, and this article and video from Arlyn walks through that feature.

Hey Amal!
You could also try duplicating a finished course as a "backup copy". Then, use that copy to make edits or translate text in-line.

Hello Colleen and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)
The labels that Ashley mentioned above can be exported/imported utilizing xliff as you can read about here.
The course translation feature is still in the works and slated for Q3 of this year, which is a July - Sept target range.

Alyssa this is great news! Can't wait to have this feature!
I'm also curious if the translation feature is available, or even just exporting the Rise file to text (word doc or other) for translation purposes.

Hello everyone
I'm also now in the queue waiting for this feature to come!
I'm also in the queue. Thanks!
I am also in the queue!
However would appreciate any guidance on how the text in Rise can be exported at least? Any ideas other than a manual copy and paste?

This is really the deciding factor for my team to purchase Articulate 360 we have about 6 languages we have to translate to per project
Hi all,
Today's new feature in Rise: Export as PDF! Take a look at Arlyn's post on it here. You can also find instructions in this tutorial.
Great news everyone!
We released a new feature in Rise today:
New: You can now localize a Rise course into other languages. Export text to an XLIFF file, translate it, then import it back into Rise with formatting intact.
Because Rise is a web app, new features and fixes are immediately available, though you might need to export a Rise course again to update existing published output with a new feature or bug fix.
