Freelancer questions about Team licenses

Jul 26, 2018

Hello,

I'm a freelancer and am concerned about not being able to share Rise authoring files with clients. Some of my clients have their own team licenses and some do not have Articulate 360 at all yet. If I buy a personal license now, can I upgrade to a team license if necessary later? Is there a way for me to temporarily join a client's team using my own license? Please help me understand my options.  I'd like to get started ASAP. Thank you very much.

Hi Ellen! A few things to note about the differences between personal and team subscriptions on Articulate 360.  Personal subscriptions are owned by the end user, must be paid for by credit card, and are non-transferable.  So it's important to keep in mind that if you work for a company that needs to own the subscription, or might need to reassign the subscription to someone other than you, a Team plan is best, even if you are a team of one.  As for sharing Rise authoring files with your clients, you can always send a copy of a course to another author, and that way you'll have the original, and they'll have a copy of their own that they can edit.  There's not a way to temporarily join a client's team using your own license -- they'd need to add you as a seatholder on their team.   I know that's a lot of information, so if you'd like to talk more with someone on our sales team, give us a call at 800-861-4880 ext 1. Anyone here on the Product Specialist Team would be happy to speak with you! We can be reached  M - F, 8 am - 8 pm ET.

Elizabeth, I will appreciate your clarification on the subject. I'm considering purchasing a freelancer subscription to experiment with the tool beyond the 60-day trial. If I happen to like the product, is it possible to upgrade the subscription to a team one?
