Knowledge check - open ended questions

Dec 19, 2018

Hi,

When using the knowledge check block with the fill-in-the-blank option, or open question, I am required to write an acceptable answer, otherwise the course marks it as wrong after submitting. I want to be able to use this feature for open ended questions where people can  write a wide variety of possible answers... is there any way this "required right answer" can be disabled or that I an do this any other way?

thanks

Hi Gaby,

You can certainly do this in Storyline directly, however if you insert it into Rise it won't be sent to the LMS.

On a side note, when you respond to forum threads directly from your email, your signature is appended to the thread. You may want to pop in there and edit out any personal information that you don't want to share with the community.

Hi Gaby,

Here's an article on inserting form-based questions (which is what short-answer questions are). The answers are automatically sent to your LMS, but not all LMSs are capable of providing you with that information. I would talk to your LMS provider and see if that's something your LMS can do before you move forward with this.

Hello, Cheryl. Rise 360 doesn't have a survey-style question, but, above, Allison shared that you can add this type of interaction with a Storyline block.

This type of interaction won't send details to your LMS on how learners answered when it's in a Storyline block. However, it's great for self-reflection throughout your Rise 360 course. If you need answer-level data that includes short answer or survey-style questions, you'll want to create the entire course in Storyline 360.
