Labeled graphic image
Oct 19, 2018
Hello, I updated my training I am working on to the blocks structure. Now I am struggling with the Labeled graphic image size. The first image which I added in edit mode was very small, finally I managed to get the image in edit mode in a satisfying size. However in final preview mode the picture size is now way too big. The only options which I now have is change the size with 3 options, however still too big. When I add a completely new (smaller) picture in edit mode, the size in preview mode remains the same only the resolution is getting worse.
I already added my 10 labels, I don't want to create a completely new block for this, where I probably still have the same struggle.
How can I edit the size of the picture in a satisfying way?
Thanks in advance for your support.

Next to this I have often issues with added pictures which are modified after adding, like the example as attached
Hello Training MTEE!
Our team is seeing the same problem with images scaling up in a labeled graphic block, and we agree that it doesn't look ideal! We're putting our heads together to look at next steps for fixing this issue. I'll keep you posted on our progress!
Regarding the Wrong_rise_picture screenshot you attached, can you tell me more about that image? What block type did you use? What does the original image look like?
Hello Allyssa,
Thank you for your reply. Hopefully the issue will be fixed very soon :).
The wrong_rise_picture I just as extra optical information together with the text that appears after clicking on a label.
The picture is compressed or stretched after uploading. I have now kind of fixed it by stretching the original picture in the opposite direction, so the uploaded picture in rise will be correct.
And thank you for your support.
Kind regards,
Arnout
Thank you for clarifying that, Arnout. I'll let you know as soon as this bug is resolved!
Adding myself into the conversation so I will be notified when this issue is fixed
Any update on this fix?
Hi Daniel,
I don’t have an update right now, but our team has been made aware of this issue and I’ll share an update as soon as I can.
Hi Martika, just wondering if there has been any progress on this issue. If not yet, can you provide an idea of when this fix can be expected? Thanks!
Hi Julie,
Thanks for reaching out!
I don’t currently have any updates and can't provide an ETA at this time, but you are now subscribed to this conversation which means as we share updates here, you’ll automatically be notified.
Hello
We have been waiting (6 months!) very patiently for a fix. Please provide an update. It affects our live courses and we need to know when this will be dealt with.

There is another thread about this and I posted my solution there for this issue.
I'll copy and paste here for ease of reference.
I had exactly the same issue where Rise was blowing up a small image and through experimentation I found a work-around.
Firstly, Rise wants images to be in 16:9 format so you need to change your small image to that format.
I opened the image in Photoshop and increased the size of canvas by making the image wider on both the left and right sides. I made the left and the right sides white (made it yellow below so the changes can be seen) and kept the image height the same. I did this a few times and tested it in Rise until I got close to the 16:9 ratio and the visual result that I wanted. The actual image (the part part in the middle) now displays close to the size of the small original.
So while the image is actually much wider than it seems, this does not bother anyone as they are not aware of it (as long as what you added on the left and right matches the background colour.)
What the labelled graphic now looks like in Rise.
Thanks for sharing this workaround with the community, Karl :)
Afternoon all,
Initially, following for updates.
Secondly, I played with the workaround mentioned by Karl a few months ago when i was trying to centralise images on tabs/accordion. It works fine for desktop but massively impacts the size of the image on mobile/tablet as it places in the white background leaving the visible image tiny.
Any other updates or workarounds?
Hi there, Matt. We are tracking a feature request to give you more control over the layout of your media in places like Accordion and Tabs interactive blocks. I don't have an update or another workaround to offer now, but we'll keep you posted here!
Hi,
Any update on how to stop my image blowing up too big in Rise? The uploaded image is the correct size I want but as soon as I view the module the image is huge. I have set it to small but it's still really big can you tell me how to keep the original size and ratio please?
Thanks
Ruth
Hi Ruth!
Try inserting the image on a 16:9 blank PowerPoint slide first. Then, save the slide as an image file. This trick will add extra white space around the original image to preserve its original size.
Finally, insert the new image file in a labeled graphic block. Let me know if that helps!
Afternoon Crystal/Alyssa,
Checking back after a couple of months to see if there has been any progress?
I'm still seeing huge images in my labelled graphic blocks and the powerpoint workaround makes images on mobile to small to work with; I struggle to get the required number of markers on the image and still be able to see the image!
The upscaling issue has been known for over a year now, are we likely to see a resolution to this bug?
Kind regards
Hi there Matt,
It sounds like you're working with a portrait-style image that is taller than it is wide, is that right?
Currently Rise 360 will scale up the image to fill the width of the labeled graphic block. We'll let you know if we add a feature that gives you more control over image size in the future.
Hi! I'm having a problem, I don't find how to change the picture of the labeled graphic. How I change it? Thank you
Hi Eugenia!
You may need to scroll down to see the Edit button below the labeled graphic image. Let me know if you still need help!
Hi Matt and all! We're excited to announce that you can now align your images in accordion, tabs, timeline, and process blocks. Choose from left, center, right, and full width.
This update doesn't impact labeled graphic blocks, but you had previously mentioned wanting to center your images in those blocks. Enjoy!
Good Morning!
Is there a way to insert a Labeled Graphic into a Timeline?
Thanks
Hi there, Sue! Thanks for chiming in here! While there isn't a way to insert a labeled graphic block into a timeline block, you may be able to use the embed feature as a workaround!
For example, you could build a labeled graphic interaction on a Storyline 360 slide using markers.
Then, publish the Storyline content for Web, and host it on your web server. From there, embed that Storyline slide in your timeline block using this iframe code:
<iframe src="URL"></iframe>
I hope that sparks some ideas for you!
