Meaningful name of shared course link and downloadable materials
May 22, 2017
Hey dear Articulate team,
Will it be possible to create a more meaningful name for the sharable links to the courses we share through the web? When we obtain the link to our course through "Share" feature, Rise generates the address with the link like "https://rise.articulate.com/share/******mkLJalRgrp****Uq0wg#/?_k=f0v***" (stars for hidden symbols, as I do not want to really share here the course)
We would like to have at least a course name in the link, if random symbols are unavoidable.
Also, if we upload a file to Rise, with a meaningful name, -- when users download it, filename is also changed to random letters. We would like to keep it original (if it sits on server in our own folders, there probably won't be a problem to avoid naming ambiguity)
Thank you very much!

Hello Irina!
Great question!
We don't currently support masking/customizing those Rise web links.
You can use a custom URL shortener to create short links that are branded to with your organization's domain.
We do welcome all your feature requests! Let us know if you'd like to see this or any other feature.
Thank you Leslie!
Hi there,
Any update on the ability to mask/customize the URL that appears when launching an exported Rise course? (See cloudfront URL at top of attached screenshot)
Best,
Michelle
Hi Michelle and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)
We currently do not offer a setting that allows customization of the URL of your Rise content. As you can see based on this thread, there may be a need for it and I encourage you to share your thoughts and use case here as well.
