Code Snipped

Aug 12, 2017

Hi,

I can not use it from Block Library> Multimedia> Code Snipped!

I've tried inserting the xhtml code of a web page, as it looks like your code example:
==
<! DOCTYPE html>
<Html lang = "en">
<Head>
<Meta charset = "utf-8">
<Title> title </ title>
<Link rel = "stylesheet" href = "style.css">
<Script src = "script.js"> </ script>
</ Head>
<Body>
<! - page content ->
</ Body>
</ Html>
==
I tried inserting the YouTube share code, or the embedded code, but without any results!

Can you give me an easy working example?

Thank you

Hello Stefano!

Great question. I had to get some clarification myself to make sure I understood correctly.

So, it sounds like you utilized the code snippet multimedia block in Rise and you are seeing just that, correct? The code? That is the intent of this block as you can see in this documentation.

Based on your description above, it sounds like you may actually want to share a YouTube video? I'd suggest the embed option:

I hope this helps you out and just let me know if I have misunderstood.

Hello Leslie,

Correct! I'd like to understanding how I can use the

BLOCK LIBRARY > MULTIMEDIA > CODE SNIPPET

I do not understand what I insert in the field Content, replacing the sample code entered by RISE automatically at the time I add the new item!

Exemple code insert automatically:

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang=”en”>
<head>
<meta charset=”utf-8”>
<title>title</title>
<link rel=”stylesheet” href=”style.css”>
<script src=”script.js”></script>
</head>
<body>
<!-- page content -->
</body>
</html>

I tried with a new web pag (xhtml+css), a code YuoTube, a embedd Code YuoTube!

What should I enter in this field?

I understood all elements about Code Snippet!

Could you give me an example?

Thanks!

Hi Stefano,

Thanks for sharing that image! It looks like you've done everything just right. The "Code Snippet" Block type will display the code to your learners still in the code form, versus embedding the content.

This would allow you to showcase code to learners. This way they can see all the characters, symbols and structure set up within the code.  I know that would help me as I can get easily lost figuring out where to insert a " < " symbol.

If you are looking to include the video for users to play within the Rise course take a look at the Block types for Multimedia - Embed or Video.

Let me know if you need anything else!
