New Feature in Rise: Block Templates

Feb 20, 2018

Hey community peeps!

We’re really stoked to share a new Rise feature with you: block templates. Build Rise courses faster by saving existing blocks and their content as templates, then reusing those templates in other lessons.

And, if you’re an Articulate 360 Teams member, you can also easily share the block templates you create with your team, saving you development time.

Learn more about it here: Creating, Sharing, and Reusing Block Templates

Have a peek at this quick video where CTO Arlyn Asch explains this great new Rise feature:

Hi Cameron and Elizabeth,

I confirmed I'm having the same trouble adding in Block templates to my Rise courses. Although I can see them listed (as your image shows too, Cameron) the Thumnail image is gone and clicking on them doesn't do anything.

I've alerted our Rise web team, and you'll likely see an update shortly on our Articulate Status page and I'll also update this discussion once I have more info.

i had a problem yesterday where the Templates showed up in the Template Library, but would not copy into the Lesson. Each time I had to hit Cancel, as the Templates did not come into the Lesson no matter how long I waited.

I have not tried today.

EDIT: I just did a quick test, and I'm having the same problem where it just spins instead of inserting the Template.

Second edit: two hours later the identical problem is still occurring with the same Templates.

I closed my Rise editing browser and restarted, and it seems to resolved the issue for now.

I did the same thing yesterday, but the problem cropped again several times later.

When the problem comes up it affects all block types.

It also occurs with both recently created Templates and existing (older) ones.

Using the latest version of Chrome.

What's odd is that it will work just fine, and then randomly stop working.

And then randomly start working again. There is no pattern and happens across browsers.

The only remedy is to complete shutdown the browser and start again, although yesterday that did not work either as the inserting message would still be there when I re-opened the course.

It wastes a lot of development time when essential Rise functions do not work.
