NEW IN RISE: Process Block
Jul 31, 2018
New feature alert! We just shipped the latest new goodie in Rise, the process block.
Now you can add process interactions to the custom lessons you create with blocks. They’re a great way to help learners explore and understand a step-by-step process. And of course they’re beautiful and responsive to any device.
Take a peek at the process block in action:
We can’t wait to see what you create with this new block!

Hi Monica,
I'm not seeing that same "checkmark" text when I roll over it. Could you tell me what browser you're using so that I can try to replicate further? Also if you're able to include a Share link here for your Rise course that would help!
Hello, Ashley. Thank you for responding. I created a sample course to show what is happening. I tried Firefox, Chrome and Edge. The "Check mark" text did not show while hovering over the checkmark on Edge; it did show on the rest. Best,
hi Ashley, thanks for your reply. Even with full screen, the content still appeared offscreen
Hi John,
Hm, and this was only in IE11? As I mentioned I did see some inconsistencies as I changed the browser size around, so I reported it to my team. Can you let me know what your overall screen size/resolution is? That'll be helpful info for testing!
hi Ashley, yes, this only happened in IE11. My screen size is 1980x1080
thanks
Thanks, John. I'll let my team know about that too.
If you need any other help, let me know. I'll be in touch here as soon as I have additional information on this issue.
Adding a vote to this.
HI, I love this! I am starting to build a process block and realized there are only 2 steps after the intro and then the summary. I am not seeing how to add additional steps. What am I missing? There are no options in settings nor in the edit button. Thanks for continuing to make Rise better!
Hi Kenneth,
On the edit panel, at the very bottom there should be an "add step" button in black.
hi Ashley, any update on this issue? Thanks
Hi John,
Unfortunately no update yet, but I'll let you know as soon as there is. Can your learners use Chrome or Edge while this issue is investigated?
I would love to be able to format the background as well.
Hi,
I see the label language options for the process block and have selected French. For all other elements of the course, the French language labels are being applied but for some reason it doesn't seem to want to change to the Process block labels. Is there something that I am doing wrong here?
Is it possible to set it so learners can't progress to the next lesson until all stages of the process flow have been viewed?
At present you can just select the last stage of the process flow so it looks like you have viewed all the steps. I like to use Continue Dividers where you have to complete all stages (like all the markers in a labelled graphic) before the Continue button becomes active. Is it possible to do this in Rise?
Hey Benjamin!
Great question and you're not doing anything wrong, but that label is under the Settings for your Process Block.
Edit Content on your Process Block > Settings > Step Label
Hope this helps :)
Hi Martin,
Was on vacation but wanted to thank you, for some reason my eyes did not gravitate to the bottom of that side of the page and found the add step button. Think I needed that vacation...
Much obliged, Ken
This is a great addition to Rise (thanks) but what would make it even better would be if as well as being able to change the 'Step Label', we also had the option to remove it completely. Currently if I leave the field empty the steps in my process are still numbered. Ideally they wouldn't be.
I agree with this request...Also, I noticed the other day that unlike the other embedded interactions, we can't change the background colour of the process block. This would be a welcome addition.

Hi David,
Are you looking to change the top listing, the bottom, or both? The top one you can change the wording (I set it to Number vs. Step) and the numbers are consistent throughout.
I’ll be happy to share with our product team, but you can also feel free to detail them more through a feature request!
Process block sounds interesting, great job !!!
I'd like to be able to remove the top listing altogether.
Thanks, David. I'll be happy to share that idea with the team.
Thanks Ashley, much appreciated!
hi again Ash - what's the latest with this issue? thanks!
Hi John,
No update yet, but as soon as I have information to share I'll post here to save you the trouble of checking in. In the meantime can your learners use Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge?
