Hey again Maggie! Would you mind doing a quick test for me?
Could you clear your cache in Chrome and then let me know if you can see the "Exit Course" button on the Export page?
If that doesn't work...
Could you try accessing Rise in Firefox (latest version) and Microsoft Edge (latest version)? Let me know if you're also not seeing the "Exit Course" button on the Export page in those browsers.
So, I cleared my cache. And it didn't look like it worked at first... but then I selected SCORM 2004 and the options appeared, and when I went back to SCORM 1.2 it stayed there. Firefox was the same thing. I have no idea what Microsoft Edge is, so I didn't try that.
Ok great! I'm happy that worked for you. I've never seen that problem before, so I'm not sure what could have caused it. Will you let me know if it happens again? Hopefully it was a one-off and not something that pops up repeatedly in the future.
we have a course we recently put in rise this week that doesn't seem to be exiting, so I'll check our rise course exit interaction and report back. thank you.
the Exit button is on in the Rise course at export for LMS. I see it in upper right-hand corner of the course and verified in the export (see attached). So I have now determined that the exit course in this Rise course is not working in our LMS (SuccessFactors) mobile application, just like we're currently having the exit buttons and triggers not work in our SF mobile app for storyline courses as well. However, the exit course function in the Rise course is working on a pc or using a browser with the .html file, instead of the mobile app. You can review:
Thanks for sharing the images of your settings and letting us know that it's only not working in the SF mobile app. Their app isn't something I can help with, as we only support the content in the native mobile browsers of Safari and Chrome. Have you reached out to your SF team to see if they had any insight?
I would like some sort of message to show once the quiz is done/passed or failed. Under the Exit Course (LMS) options, i see the option that says Bye (hand wave) and You may now leave this page. Where and When do these messages display? I can't seem to get them to show up when I'm done with the quiz.
Hi Mat! Depending on your LMS, when you exit the course using either a button or the Exit Course link, you may see that messaging before closing the Rise window. Some LMSs will use the "goodbye" messaging, and some will just close the window when you click to exit the course.
If you're exporting for Web, there isn't an "Exit Course" option that you could enable, but in that setup, the user could also use the standard browser close button/options. The Exit Course function that is available for an LMS helps ensure the course data is passed correctly to your LMS, as some systems require that to correctly track a users progress.
I am publishing the same course for web use and different LMS 's and I have found that if I leave the "Exit Course Link" set to on after exporting the courses to SCORM 1.2. I then have to de- select it before changing the export course feature to web.
If I leave it selected the web version displays the exit course button but does not work. Which would light up my inbox from users trying to close the course using that link.
Are you aware of any other LMS features that are transferred to the web version if not de-selected?
Hi there, Ivor. That's a great catch - sorry that the exit course feature slipped into your web output. I'm documenting this for our team to have a look to make sure that LMS-only features don't make their way into the web output.
You've nailed the workaround -- make sure the exit course link feature is disabled before exporting for web, for now.
There shouldn't be any other non-functional LMS components that your learners see when exporting for web. Hopefully that keeps the inbox sane!
It would be really awesome to have an EXIT COURSE button that did work for the web. We have a course that is in a WordPress site and not having a persistent EXIT COURSE button is kind of irksome. Something that you could add a the link to the page you wanted folks to go back to would be ideal.
no. not in the mobile app. only in the browser. Even if you make the course window close automatically on the timer, and give them credit (tracking/reporting) based on the timeline of last slide, the window closes but the app doesn't know the course finished and asks them to resume.
Does the exit button display only after exporting? I do not get a button to add it to a block, nor does it display in the course as I edit or preview or publish, even after toggling it on.
I'd like to ask a simple confirmation: Does the corner link and button in a block use same function? We're about to to add "Exit the course (LMS only)" buttons in all our courses, to make the completion of course more satisfying to the users. Corner link works perfectly with our LMS, so does that mean that buttons will work the same? Thanks in advance :)
We seem to have had issues with reporting back to our LMS from adding a button that is set to 'Exit the course (LMS only)'. The exit course link in the scorm file works, but the button doesn't? These should both have the same function, shouldn't they? Trying to get to the bottom of the issue as having a button looks better and is more satisfying to users as Andreea says. Hoping to get answers here as LMS aren't providing any.
Thanks Allison for feedback and C.S. for sharing experiences. So we'll test the button first. Two button types to test, one with that "Exit (LMS only)" link, another one with url to the course theme page (where LMS redirects the users after successful Exit). Will let you know how this works.

Thanks, Maggie. I'm going to consult with my team on this, and I'll get back to you soon!

I have pictures of using it on an iPhone and Samsung android both within the SuccessFactors Mobile App but don't think that will help you.

Have a look at my Peek to see exactly what I mean.
For your quiz, could you add some instructions to your users in the quiz description field to use the Exit Course link when they've finished?
Thanks for your help Crystal. I appreciate it.
The goodbye message seems a little pointless after you close the browser. Maybe this would make a good update in the future :)
Is there a way to allow learners to exit the course/close the browser if you are just publishing to web (not to LMS)?

Hi Rick,
I responded to your other post on this subject. Definitely reach out to our support team they can help you resolve this quickly.

Hi Andreea,
They should work the same, but I would test it out on your LMS to be sure.
Let me know if there's anything else I can do to help. :)
