Is there a way to password protect a RISE course once it's published to the Web? Or does it have to be uploaded to an LMS for this functionality? I would like to avoid adding to an LMS, as it looks much more sleek and seamless on a website. Thanks.
You can password protect the Rise "Share" link, but I haven't seen examples of a password-protected course hosted on a website.
Your web host may have a feature that allows you to password-protect content. What host are you using? Hopefully others using the same one can chime in with tips!
Hi Alyssa, just a brief question: is the course shared in the way you described also accessible after the subscription of the organization that created it expires?
When you cancel an Articulate 360 subscription we’ll keep your data intact for at least six months. This means that anyone who has direct links to your Rise courses on our servers will still be able to view them.
For more tips on what to do before cancelling a Rise subscription click here. Please let me know if I can help with anything else.
I am exporting a Rise course to our website for the first time (we don't have a LMS) and need to restrict access. Does this happen through Rise or do I need to speak to our web support? Thanks.
Yes Jacquii, this is possible. Here are 3 Options I've used with my clients.
Insert a Storyline file (Interactive Block SL) in 1st Rise section with a password and set course to Linear requiring them to go thru that gateway. Use Triggers to make password SL file.
If it's a Web Publish put a password on the specific Web site page in your Web Control Panel
Put a Rise Quiz at the start and restrict navigation.
How do Insert a Storyline file to my Rise 360 course? New to all this and our legal department needs us to have our Rise360 course password protected. It will be uploaded to our company website not an LMS.
This user guide includes step by step instructions for embedding Storyline 360 content in your Rise 360 course. Give those steps a try, and let me know how you make out!
Is there a way to IP protect a rise course? i.e. only allow the share link to work if within a certain IP range? meaning it only works if at an organisation's premises.
This works great on PCs, but on smartphones the Storyline block seems to open in some form of lightbox, which you have to close by tapping a cross icon, before you can then click the continue button. This is far from obvious to the learner and doesn't happen on a PC.
@Articulate Staff - is this behaviour for Storyline blocks on smartphones by design? If so, I don't think it's intuitive for learners. Perhaps the Rise page should be greyed out behind the Storyline block when it's open, like lightboxed slides in Storyline, to make it clearer what's happening to the learner.

Rise does not have this functionality. Talk to your IT/web support.

Hi Hugh,
Rise 360 doesn't have a feature to restrict access to a course based on IP. I will leave this to the community to chime.
Is there a possibilty tot change the language of this password block?
I had a requirement to password protect a Rise course published for the web and have used the Storyline block method mentioned above by Ryan. See demo here - https://rise.articulate.com/share/ZywnnaxXpbCUcYMRaI9QXIECUdyVHgDt. Storyline file attached.
