I have just signed up for Articulate online and now I try to publish a course made in Rise there. However I do not know how to do this, is it even possible? Do anyone know?
Rise courses aren't supported in Articulate Online.
However, if you have an AICC-, SCORM-, or Tin Can API-compliant LMS, you can track Rise courses in your LMS. Open your Rise course for editing, click Export in the upper right corner of the screen, and choose an LMS specification. Some more details can be found here.
Wait, let me understand. Rise courses are NOT compatible with Articulate Online, but with every other SCORM LMS out there? Why? Why would you not have it compatible with your own platform?
Yeah, its a pretty glaring issue. To be honest if Articulate Online isn't going to be developed further, I would like Articulate to perhaps partner with an LMS to ensure a tight and easy experience for getting content into an LMS.
Thanks, Brent. We are always happy to hear and discuss new ideas or feature requests! Our team monitors the E-Learning Heroes community to combine that with anything submitted using the form here! All that is collected, tracked and evaluated based on some pretty simple criteria outlined here.
We may not implement every feature we hear about, but we're working every day to make a product you love. So the more you share your ideas, needs, feedback, and how this would help course development - the better!
It is very unfortunate that Rise courses cannot be published to Articulate Online. That was the main reason I was going to use Rise. Our corporate LMS is not the most user friendly, so I thought this was a good way to provide training to our users, that didn't need to be tracked.
You can’t upload Rise courses to Articulate Online however there are several other options for getting a course to learners. You can learn more about that right here.
If you have any additional questions please reach out - I’d be happy to help.
Hi Articulate it looks like you are dodging the question and the issue.
Please be open and honest if you are not going to support this function moving forward rather than a generic We look into all issues and requests email to the group,
This will allow us to look into using Rise with other LMS options rather than waiting for something that will not arrive.
Hi Articulate, that's a real problem for us. We have just authored a course in Rise only to find this out when trying to upload it. It would have saved us a lot of work if this had been specifically stated both on Articulate On-line and in Rise. Now we will need to re-author this course in Storyline 360. :(
I’m sorry for the confusion. While it’s true that we don’t explicitly say that Rise doesn’t output to Articulate Online, we do list all the export options here.
If there's anything else I can do to help, please let me know!
Hi folks! We heard you, and we are excited to tell you about Rise.com, the new enterprise-class online training system that your employees will love.
Rise makes training easy to create, enjoyable to take, and simple to manage. You can create courses, enroll learners, and distribute, track, and analyze your training all in one system. To learn more about Rise, please visit rise.com.
Drats... I'm already seeing a major issue with the new Rise.com. There is no way to launch public courses. We're helping governmental health organizations produce high-quality training content publicly for healthcare provider use. We are starting to develop that content using Articulate Rise... but being able to actually collect usage data (i.e. quiz scores) outside of a walled LMS has been a real challenge.
Ideally Rise.com would have some sort of an accomodation for public-facing content (i.e. anonymous users, or simply public users that don't fully count towards the licensed user count). Fingers crossed that will be a consideration at some point in the future.
While it seems that this is a solution, it should be included with the price of the Articulate Online subscription, which is already costly. It can be a standalone for those that don't have Articulate Online, but to charge another $1,299 on top of the fee seems excessive.
Thanks for reaching out, Melissa. Depending on how you're currently authoring and hosting your training, you may not need both.
Rise.com is an all-in-one online training system. It includes all the authoring functionality from Rise 360, plus a library of pre-built lessons on common business topics, templates, and sample courses. It also includes all the functionality for distributing, tracking, analyzing, and managing training.
Feel free to reach out to the Rise team at sales@rise.com to talk about how you're currently authoring and hosting your courses!
I'm very disappointed by this. We bought Articulate Online for a lot of money and now we can't even use it for our course we created in Rise 360. This is very misleading.

Wait, what? So I can develop a course using Rise but not publish using the company's own online platform.
