Quiz functionality is Articulate able to collate & produce statistics showing users answers from the SCORM package?

Mar 08, 2018

At my University we use a VLE that requires the following for a SCORM package to report statistics on Quizzes:

If using SCORM 1.2, the user’s grade is set when the following occurs:

The cmi.core.score.raw value is set
The value for cmi.core.score.max is not null and is greater than zero
The SCO Terminate call (LMSFinish) is made

These items are set when the SCORM package is authored and are not determined by the VLE. But I'm not sure what I need to set in Articulate.

When I published my RISE Scorm the only options I could find was

1. whether the Course Track completion is by % of course or

2 by result of the Quiz

Reporting Completion status is by

1. Passed/Incomplete

2. Passed/ Failed

3. Complete/ In complete

4. Complete/ Failed

I'm not sure which of these options to select or if this will set the correct trigger to my VLE to record the Quiz results.

Can you help please?

Thanks

Hi Sarah,

It sounds like you'd want to choose option #2 to track by the quiz results and then set your passing score there in the Quiz settings. You'll need to add a quiz to your course for this feature as well - and once you do you can choose that quiz in the export settings.

The completion statuses are different wording/language options that LMS's use, and so which one you choose will be up to your environment. I'd ask your VLE admin to weigh in there, as know many LMSs track a completion status and a success status. To report both statuses, choose either Passed/Incomplete or Passed/Failed when you publish. Completed/Incomplete and Completed/Failed report only the completion status.

Hope that helps! Also, if you're on a trial of Articulate 360, go ahead and export out the sample Health and Wellness Course and test uploading it into your environment.
