I have created a course in Rise and noticed in testing that the text fades on the image icon text boxes when using Microsoft Edge. There is not an issue when using Chrome to view the course.
I attach some screenshots of the fading text issue.
Please can you let me know if there is a fix for this?
Thanks for the images - and I just had a few more questions as it's something I haven't seen yet. I was easily able to see it on a Rise course I had handy, but wanted to confirm if you only see this on the labelled graphic markers? I'll report this to our QA team to investigate further and will be back in touch with you here once there is additional information to share.
Also just a reminder to confirm where you're authoring and viewing the Rise content. Currently only viewing in Edge is supported, so if you were authoring there it may cause some odd behavior.
Hi Ashley - so sorry but we have just discovered another issue with Edge on this course. I have inserted some telephone numbers within statement blocks which look absolutely fine when viewed in Chrome but when viewed in Edge some of the telephone numbers change to a blue hyperlink. I've attached a screenshot for your information.
Would be grateful if your QA Team could take a look at this too please.
Thanks Alena for checking in - the faded text issue is still something our team is looking into, so I don't have an update yet. The linking of the phone numbers appears to be a “feature” of Edge. It appears that others dislike it as well, so hopefully Microsoft rethinks that behavior.
Hi Justin - thanks for coming back to me - that's interesting about Microsoft Edge - I'll let my colleagues know. I look forward to hearing from you regarding the faded text once you have an update.
Hi there - we have discovered another issue with Microsoft Edge when trying to view an embedded PDF. The PDF does not appear in the screen - it just shows the link to the website and the link to the PDF image. I've attached a screenshot of the issue - please can you take a look? The course is authored in Chrome and all looks OK when viewed in Chrome.
Thanks for sharing this, Alena. I'm having a little trouble reproducing the problem.
Can you try this sample course (which links to this sample public PDF) in Microsoft Edge? Do you see the embedded PDF there? Did you use a URL/EMBED lesson to display the PDF?
I can see the PDF in your sample course absolutely fine in Chrome but my colleague just gets a blank screen when he views in Edge. See screenshot attached.
Thanks Alena for the link to your course and the image. I was able to view it in the Edge browser, so I wonder if you could also gather a bit more information from your colleague about the version of Edge they're using? Here's a quick Peek video I uploaded to Articulate Review to show you how to check! In the meantime I'll also get the Developers to take a look!
Thanks Alena for bearing with me and checking that too. Are you able to reproduce the issue on any other machines, or just this one colleague in Edge? Could there be other add-ons, plugins, etc. that are interfering with the PDF in Edge?
Hi Ashley - I've just checked the PDF on my machine which is using the same version of Edge (sorry didn't think to check this first!) and I can see it OK. My colleague is in the office tomorrow - I will double check what is happening on his machine and report back. Thanks very much.
Hi Ashley - I have checked my colleague's machine and the PDF is now showing! Not sure what happened there but it's all sorted. Thanks for all your help.
Hey team, so with the fading text, even if it's a scorm package it does the same thing. A temporary work around would be to add 2x line spaces below the last text line (hit enter twice after your final period). It doesn't look terrible either. Hope this helps!

Hi Ashley
Yes - so far we have only seen this on the labelled graphic markers and only when viewing in Edge.
I am authoring in Chrome and it's all fine when I view in Chrome. It was discovered by my colleague who was viewing in Edge.
Hope that helps - looking forward to a solution. Many thanks.
Thanks Alena and we've got the issue in the hands of our QA team - they'll be investigating and we'll keep you posted.
Hi Ashley - just wondered if there was any update on this issue?
Many thanks

Would you mind sharing your Rise SHARE link with us? Here's how to do that:
Thanks again!
Hi Justin
Here's the link to my course

I used a URL/Embed block to display the PDF.
I've forwarded your link to my colleague for him to test in Microsoft Edge - I'll report back shortly.
Many thanks for your help.

Magic...? :)
Just glad to hear it's working for your colleague Alena, and thanks for the update!
