Searching in Rise

Nov 12, 2016

Hi there

I can't see an option to search a Rise course. Could this be added?

Thanks

Hello Edu Tech and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)

Glad to see that you are checking out some of the previous discussions and features of Rise. Thanks for letting us know some items you would be interested in implementing.  I've submitted a feature request on your behalf so that your ideas are included for our team to take a look at for the future.

The lack of a search option is holding up our production schedule with converting our past InDesign course work to Rise. We have converted our largest course, but we are not proceeding onto the rest of our catalog until we can figure a way to allow searching through the course content. We LOVE Rise and see the infinite potential, but the lack of search is a showstopper for my colleagues after having the feature and abilities that a local PDF copy has allotted our students for years.

Currently, I've been testing with Adobe's AEM mobile as well as a couple of Chrome plug-ins that allow search and annotation of HTML5 content, but all of those options add processes and credentials that I'd consider clunky as of right now. I'm hoping the Articulate team can present something soon that will allow us to forge ahead with Rise.

Search alone would allow us to start deploying Rise courses for class use. We can work around the notes and annotation needs by providing flow forming entry boxes on a pre-canned PDF that has links back to the individual modules in Rise above the 'Notes' boxes for student use and to take home with them after the cert course(s).

Hi there, Emrah.  Here's some information about our feature request process.

Our team is committed to giving you the best information we can at the time so that you can make good decisions for your projects!

I can understand you feeling like you're in the dark about when certain features might be released.  We don’t have a public roadmap, as development and timing can shift, but we provide targeted release dates when possible.  As Ashley mentioned, we don’t have any new info to share yet on a search feature in Rise.

Tell me more about how you'd envision your learners using that function.  I’d like to pass that context along to our team.
