Storyline Question Bank Slides Appear Small in Rise

Jul 09, 2018

I have a Rise course with several SL360 interactions added. I've noticed that "draw from question bank" slides that are published and added into Rise always appear small - even when I set the width to medium in Rise. All other SL360 content looks fine and I can change the size as expected in Rise (small, medium, full width). Changing this setting for question bank slides has no impact. I've included a link to an example:

In the course above, both of my SL files are the exact same size and both are set to medium width in Rise. The only difference is that one is a drag and drop by itself and the other draws from a question bank.

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening and how to resolve it?

I resolved my own issue. Posting here in case anyone else encounters this.

If the first slide in SL is a normal content slide, it will work as it's supposed to in Rise. But, if the first slide is a draw from question bank slide, it will always appear small in Rise, no matter what settings you select.

I didn't want to have any intro content slide, so my workaround was to create a blank slide with a transparent shape (invisible), set the slide to advance automatically, and change the timeline to be as short as possible. The learner will barely even notice it's there, then the draw from question bank appears and it's the right size in Rise! I hope this helps someone else in the future.

Thanks Kristin for following up!  I'm going to look into the differences, here.  Can you let me know the exact settings you used for publishing each of those Storyline examples?  A screenshot of the publishing window would be perfect.  More specifically, I'm curious about the player you're using, and whether you're publishing the full project or just a single slide.

Thanks!

I'm using the modern player with all menus and controls turned off. I'm publishing the entire project (both projects for each slide used the same settings). I've attached a screenshot as requested.

Another interesting thing - I originally created a single SL file with several question banks and several draw from question bank slides. Then, I'd simply publish a single slide to Articulate 360. But, the published file was blank. When I inserted into Rise, there was nothing there. I assumed since I was only publishing a single slide, SL wasn't publishing the associated question bank and that's what was causing the issue. I ended up creating separate SL files for each question bank and just publishing the entire project - then the questions showed up.

Thanks for your help with this!
