Team content management

Jun 27, 2018

My team is having tons of logistical problems with the management of Rise content. The first problem we have is not being able to publish or transfer ownership of courses that other team members own. When someone goes on vacation or leaves without transferring ownership, there is no simple way for our team Admin to go in and deal with or reassign ownership of all of that content. The second issue is that there is no view for anyone on our team to see a full list of courses that have been created by members of our team. This makes it difficult for us to find source content or simply get a handle on what we are all making.

In the absence of the team Admin being able to universally transfer ownership of courses or see all of the courses being created, does anyone have any suggestions for mitigating these issues?

Hi Lindsey,

Thanks for reaching out here, and in this other discussion.

I know a few other Teams users have shared similar sentiments so we're gathering all these experiences to share with our Product team to look at ways in which we could increase the options for admins or collaborators.

We'll keep you posted on that here, and in the meantime, I hope others in the community can share what they've been doing to share Rise courses and all broader access to the settings, export options, etc.

This is such a major need for us as well. In fact, despite the rapid development and other features we LOVE about Rise, we and being directed to stop all development in Rise due to the risks involved in content management. We are a team of 66 designers at a large company.

If we publish content and then six months later a revision is needed to material, it will very likely be assigned to someone besides the original author. Tracking the original author down to share the file as a collaborator then opens the door to a ton of logistical issues, plus it puts us at risk for version control. We need a way to open an exported file back into a new user's workspace for edits. Then, they can reexport so the next person assigned a revision can grab that source file and continue the cycle until the material is retired.

Until this content management hurdle is solved, we cannot develop in Rise.

(Which is a major bummer and time costly, I might add, since many on our team absolutely love using Rise!)

Hi everyone,

Good news: we just released some new features that are going to solve a lot of the pain you've points you've brought up in this thread.

The first one allows you to assign different roles for different users. Here's a video that shows how that works

The second one makes it easy to transfer Rise 360 content from one team member to another when someone leaves the team.

Check out this video to see how it works and this step-by-step tutorial for more details.

And these aren't the only cool features we released today! Visit our what’s new page for the full list.

Let me know if you have any questions or comments. :)

We have the exact same issue.

Currently as an admin, I can only transfer content to another user or delete the content when I transfer a seat. I have to visibility to the content unless I also add myself to one of the existing seats. The issue is, I am not a content creator.  The way content currently is managed is not great. Would be much better if we could create groups, to which users can belong to, and the content resides within those groups. So instead of having to constantly reassign content to another user, the content can just remain in the group and whoever belongs to that group or is assigned to the group, can have access to it.

The way content is managed is not great at all.
