Transferring Course to Another User
Aug 29, 2018
Can Rise courses be transferred to another user in the event that the user who created the course leaves the team they are on (maybe for a different position or a new job)? I ask because my team is starting to develop courses with 360. Currently I am the only user on my team with a 360 subscription and my teammates are loving the Rise courses. I worry that I will develop an abundance of courses to meet the demand, but in the future if I promote or leave my position we will lose the ability to edit my developed Rise courses.

Hi Jennifer
Settings > Collaborators > Enter an email address > Hover near the 'owner' tag against the original creator and you will see a Transfer option display. Click Transfer Ownership and then select the person to transfer it to - they then become the owner.
Hi Jennifer,
In addition to inviting any other 360 Teams users to collaborate or own your project, you could also send a copy of your Rise course to any other Articulate 360 users. Take a look at the steps here.
Since Rise courses are connected with the individual and their Articulate ID, we'd recommend using one of those methods prior to any changes such as a promotion or new job.
Thank you for the responses! I am going to retain these for the future. Much appreciated.
I think that method only applies to the Teams license - can't see any 'settings' or 'collaborators' in my version. Is that correct?
I have a different problem - we have a Teams licence but one of the team has left. He has added me as a collaborator but not as owner. This means that I can't duplicate it. Help!
Great question, John! The collaborative authoring feature is exclusive to Articulate 360 teams subscriptions. Since you've got an individual subscription, you can share a course with another person by sending a copy. Would that work for what you had in mind?
Hi Sarah!
When that user left your team, his Rise 360 content should have been transferred to another team member.
Find out who now owns his content, and have that person change your role to an Admin on that course.
Let me know if you need extra help with that!
Thanks - I'll try and find out who owns it now. My workaround was to contact someone he was working with, and it turned out that she had a copy herself.
Hi :) I am set up in multiple Rise accounts and for two accounts I have the same email address. Is there a way I can send a copy from one account to a different team account?
Hi Erica! Thanks for reaching out! I see you've already opened a case with us and Shiela is assisting you with that!
Hello, I'm currently creating some content using my private email address as a login. I think that my company will be purchasing a license soon and don't really want to have to re-do all of the work I have done so far. As my private email address and my work email address won't be part of the same 360 team is it possible for me to transfer ownership between these accounts?
Hi Peter! You can send a copy of the course between accounts. You can follow the instructions here.
That’s great! Thank you for the quick response!

I'm transferring courses from a trial license to a purchased license. When I transfer a copy of a course to test it out, the comments do not seem to go along with the transferred course. How do I get the comments as well as all the review versions, including Storyline videos, to transfer?
Please advise before I transfer all the others.
Hi Barbrah! I see Darwin assisting you in case 02993509.
I AM VERY FRUSTRATED AND NEED IMMEDIATE ASSISTANCE. I HAVE NOT HAD ACCESS TO THE COURSES CREATED USING MY TRIAL LICENSE, WHICH EXPIRED NOV 22. IT HAS BEEN SINCE NOV 15 THAT I SENT THE INITIAL REQUEST FOR HELP WITH THIS PROCESS, THEN THE LICENSE EXPIRED BECAUSE THE DAYS LEFT ON THE TRIAL WAS NOT ACCURATE.
I FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS GIVEN TO ME BY SUPPORT BUT IN THE LAST STEP, THE COURSES WERE NOT TRANSFERRED.
I HAVE ONLY ONE MORE WEEK ON MY CONTRACT AND NEED TO ESCALATE THIS CASE TO SOLVE IT IMMEDIATELY.
THANK YOU,
NATASHA

Hi Arisara,
You can try the following steps:
You can find more details about this process here in this article. I hope this helps!
When we transfer ownership, can the person who has the ownership see the SME comments added earlier?
Hi, Begum! If the new course owner publishes the course to Review 360, they will need to select "Create a new item." This is because they have never published this item to Review 360 before.
When they create a new item, the comments from another Review 360 link won't carry over. The new owner will need to have access to the original Review 360 link to be able to view the SME comments.
