My translation company cannot work with what translation export format seems to be coming out of Rise courses now (XLF). Can someone help me figure out how to get an XLIFF export?
It's my understanding that XLF is the extension for XLIFF files (see this article on Wikipedia) like DOCX is the extension for MS Word files. Have you tried sending these files to your translators? If so, what did they tell you exactly?
This is what the language translation company said:
"Hi Rebecca, I am having a bit of trouble using the file you sent today, I suspect because it is in .xlf format unlike the previous ones that were in .xliff. Do you have a way to send this new file in .xliff? Please let me know. "
I showed the company what you said, and he responded: "Sorry that this has been so difficult! Indeed the issue was that our system does not import the XLF properly." Is it possible to allow the XLIFF type as well? Or at least for my purposes, to allow for it one time for this one course?
I renamed the extension .xlf to an .xliff. Highlight the .xlf file, hit F2 (rename), and add an 'if' in the extension name, select OK to rename. Now you have an .xliff file.
