Suggstions: have lightboxes in Rise, similar to Storyline
Hi Jean-Christo203,
Thanks so much for sharing this! I understand that you’d like to create lightboxes in Rise the way you can in Storyline, so learners get quick prompts without leaving the course. Using code to do it isn’t something you want to make a habit.
To help us understand your experience:
- What are you hoping to accomplish with lightboxes in your Rise courses?
- What do you do today when you want to give learners a quick prompt like that?
Hearing how this plays out in your courses helps us understand what you’re trying to create. Have a great start to your day, too!

Well, it would be useful to display any important information after you scroll on the block or before you click on Continue button, like "Please note that thing is important", and then you proceed. One thing that came up is how learners... aren't familiar with a video player and how they need something that tells them how to toggle the closed captions in order to read the transcription.
There are ways to have those without editing the source video files, but to have the exact same lightbox option as Storyline would be welcomed.

We can use text blocks or similar to display "as a prompt". Of course, that's without considering how Storyline slides can be used to 1) offer alternate activities and 2) display those same prompts. YouTube and Vimeo also have their own tools to make prompts, if you're using videos.
Like I said, there are multiple ways to show a prompt, but one that is natively implemented into Rise, using Storyline's own lightbox option, would be nice to have, since both softwares already share features.
I say prompts, it could also be a gatekeeper.
Bottom line: I'm aware that you can use the Code Block to make a CSS with a prompt, but when you're asking AI to code for you, you're not doing addressing the problem.
