A couple questions were posed a month or so back (time flies!!!) about the Side Menu I'd created for one of David Anderson's challenges, so I thought I'd post a link here to the "how to" video. Also, in case you want to take a peek inside, I'm attaching the story.
Clever and clean. One thing to note is the fact that the hotspots can be clicked without expanding or changing the mini menu to the normal state. Maybe remove the hand cursor on hover option to hide this. I love these types of menus and wish I could use them more often
Removing the hand icon would work, but then I'm not happy with the look. It's less intuitive to the Learner. So, I've worked around it another way.
New: True/False Variable
Added a new T/F variable, named it MenuOpen, default = False.
New: Transparent Shape
Inserted a shape over the Menu.png, named it TransShape on the timeline. This will hide the hotspots when the menu isn't open.
New Triggers
Layer triggers
Set MenuOpen=False when the timeline starts on this layer
Change state of TransShape=Hidden when variable MenuOpen=True
Change state of TransShape=Normal when variable MenuOpen=False
Object Trigger
Toggle variable MenuOpen when user clicks Button 1 (the "menu" button)
Ryan, that was a great catch. Thank you! If you have a chance to check out the attached, let me know if it's all working...or if I missed anything. That goes for the rest of y'all in the community as well!

Hey, Ryan,
What a good catch. I never even saw that. hmmm.
