Storyline-collapse left handed sidebar menu on-demand

This would make a great feature request Dean - click here to submit it.

One option you could try is to turn off the player and build the menu manually.  This would let you create the exact behavior you want using triggers, layers and states...

Post again if you think this might work for you and need ideas for how to do it!

yea, same question for me here. In Articulate presenter 09, you do have the toggle button to change the course view mode. But here in Storyline you don't have a choice, you can only choose from using menu or not using it. 

Storyline is not Studio, if you want the feature adding add a feauture request by following the link Jill gave above

I just made the same feature request as well. Storyline is one magnificent piece of software, but not having that feature is a miss. There's an enormous variety in display sizes, and many learning styles, and the viewer needs some control over the viewing experience. That feature needs to be in there, as well as a full-screen toggle, which I've also requested.

Well, one option is to put the menu on the topbar . . .

Or build your own side bar that is visble when you mouse over the left hand side of the screen, just add it to a layer

Going to go with Phil's suggestion or Gerry's suggestion. Moving the menu to a tab on the top produces an overlay on the right or the left hand side of the screen. The problem with collapsing the left or right menu on cue is the management of the presentation space. It's not scalable and adding to the width of the stage can create problems. Collapsing / expanding the side menu as an overlay would be a nice option.Storyline and Presenter are different tools. Presenter had a set 4:3 scale. It was easier to manage the space. Storyline outputs can appear in any dimension or scale. Tough to work out the collapsing menu affordance with this feature.

Creating your own tracking menu either using a lightboxed slide or a slide-in side menu on the master slide is pretty easy and you get the bonus of having complete control over the presentation of the menu. You can add checkmarks to completed areas and can control the font and size independently of other navigation frame elements.

Ok, just realised how to do it, so easy (Use the arrows in the player features to move the menu up to the top left, duh)

Hello - I would like to create a collapsible menu on the far left screen so that I can have sections and subsections that I may collapse and expand. I am new to this tool and could use some step by step guidance. Thanks.

A toggle button for  showing / hiding the menu.

Marcos, if you move the menu to the top of the player it automatically creates a toggle button for showing/hiding the menu.

If you want something more sophisticated than that you'll want to manually build the functionality using layers or a lightbox.
