Does Storyline have a template like the FAQ template in Studio Pro '09? I also call this an accordian template because you can place a lot of material on one page without the page looking cluttered. Thanks.
I found it initially very frustrating that, for example, Glossary and Circle interactions were not there, but remember - it's a different product that shares some features
For Glossary, I now just arrange it in a Word file, and then copy and paste the content to a Text Scroll Box, (with the term titles in bold), place that in a lightbox slide, and activate it from a label/tab at the top-right. It lokks REALLY neat
It takes a while to get your "head-space" adjusted from Studio to SL, but you will get there :D
The glossary would have been my next question. Thanks for anticipating it and providing a solution. A learning curve can be lots of fun, but not when you're dead-ended, not knowing the options. Thanks again for removing those barriers.
There is also the built in player glossary, although I find the text is a little too small
Meant to mention that.
Yes - found it (after a recent post), but I never liked the way in Studio that half of the letters were empty (sorted in new version), hence developed my own way around it.
Built-in features (like markers, glossaries, etc.) by their nature, limit design decisions. This is true for any program. What I love about Storyline is that you can reject any feature that doesn't work for you and build your own! Don't like the glossary? Build your own. Don't like the lightbox? Build your own. Don't like the markers? Build your own. Storyline puts more design decisions into the hands of the designers than any other program I've used.
Thanks, All. You’ve gotten me to thinking that a small glossary could be created using the layer concept. Thinking in terms of animation processes opens up a whole new arena for creating interactions. Rives
Just came across this and the look and feel of it has given me a really nice visual way of dealing with presenting some necessary technical info on a stack of network cards. Just wanted to say thank you!
@Tim, not bad. If you added transitions, your accordion menu wouldn't be so abrupt. @Bart, thanks. You can choose to use layers or new slides. It really depends on what your content entails.
Tim, I think design wise, yours is the best! Great job! Even without transitions, his design makes the most sense as reading FAQs sideways as in the other example is not natural, even with transitions.

I'd self-build using layers...
Something like this...
Took me 5 minutes to build (as you can probably tell.... )

Genius! Thank you, Bruce.

No problem Rives.

Thanks Bruce for the tip and the slide. Ozlem
I just created a nice accordian template for whomever would like to use it. See attached.
Thanks Karen,
Great job!
Thanks Karen,Bruce
Hey Karen
Just came across this and the look and feel of it has given me a really nice visual way of dealing with presenting some necessary technical info on a stack of network cards. Just wanted to say thank you!
Late to the party but this is really cool. Could the same type of functionality be handled through layers as well?
Here is a version I did with layers.

Thanks Karen;
this is a time when animations would really help. I will see what other transitions will do.
Tim
Thanks for sharing your designs everyone!

Thanks Sandra;
I had forgotten I had made something like that. I may have a use for it again.
Thanks for the reminder.
Tim
Very nice & very simple, Bruce. Thnx for sharing your solution!
Very simple and effective. Thank you for sharing, Karen!
Glad you found some assistance here Richard :)
Indeed I did, Leslie. Indeed I did.
:-)
Thanks Karen, this was exactly what I needed.
Hi Jon! Glad that this thread was able to assist you as well. Thanks for popping in :)
