Is it possible to display the current screen title in the Topbar of the Articulate player? I have a course with 200+ screens, many of them with long titles and I would like to be able to see the complete screen title when I am viewing a screen, but wrapping the titles in the Menu sidebar would become very messy due to the volume. We are currently using the hover feature to display it when user hovers, but would like it to be a constant display in the topbar instead.
From what I understand, you want to show the title of slides along the top of the player itself, correct?
Is this the area you're talking about, where the file name is displayed or in the browser window?
As far as I know, this isn't possible. I think it would make an excellent feature request, though, and I agree that it would really help with larger courses.
There is one option you could consider, which is using a variable/trigger combination that would show the title within the slide, itself. Though I know it's not exactly what you're looking for, it may work as an alternative for the time being. There's a thread on this topic, here.
One way to do that is by making the title appear in the master slide. A bar the same color as your interface could make the thing look like it's just a part of the interface. I actually track and update a variable for the slide serial as well as the title even if I don't employ it on the slide.
Here are the components to making this work:
Text variable named slideTitle
Master slide text box: %slideTitle%
A trigger on each slide to adjust the variable to a new value with your new slide title
This might seem like a lot of work. It's not too bad. Here's the way I do it:
Open up Story view.
Select the slide that contains your "template trigger" to adjust the slideTitle variable.
Copy this trigger to the clipboard.
Select another slide.
Paste.
Rinse and repeat for all other slides.
Now open up a document that contains all of your titles or use your slide label as a source to copy and paste the title text.
When you have your title text on the clipboard, select the variable value in the trigger panel for the selected slide and paste.
For a hundred slides or so this should go more quickly than you think Story view and quick selection within a trigger for fast, fast copy / paste makes it breeze by.

Thanks!

Thanks Christine. Your understanding of what I am trying to do is exactly right. I'll submit the feature request.
I appreciate the suggestion, though I am too far along in this project I think to go back and make that update on a slide by slide basis.

Awesome, as usual, Steve!
Wow! Thanks for the guidance Steve - those instructions will definitely make the process less tedious than I thought it would be.
Sure thing. If you need an example or Screenr, give a shout.
