Unable to view videos in Storyline course on iPad

Hi,
I've created a course in Storyline and have used a lot of videos (.mp4 format) in this course.
I published the file as 'Web' version and 'LMS' version.
Both the versions have been uploaded accordingly and are being tested on iPad. There are 2 major issues that I have encountered.
a) LMS version: None of the videos are playing in the course. There is only a black box that appears in the placeholder.
b) Web version: I have installed the Articulate Mobile Player as well. However, the course doesn't proceed beyond first slide.
Please advise on how to resolve this issue.

Hi Veena -
The iPad won't play videos in Articulate courses automatically. The videos may play if you tap on the black boxes - but make sure there isn't anything layered on top of the videos, like transparent text boxes or images.
Hi Veena and welcome to Heroes!
When viewing the course, what browser are you using? You'll see listed here particular system requirements for viewing Storyline content, and here a comparison of features based on viewing in HTML5, Flash, or the Articulate Mobile Player.
If you're still having difficulty, please feel free to share your .story file here or send to us by submitting a Support case.
Apple requires that all videos do not play automatically (html5.) It's built into the iPad and part of the Human Interface Guidelines. If you look around the we using an iPad you will never see autostart videos.
Hi Lucas
As an intuitive gesture, I did tap on the black box but I wasn't able to see the video.
Just to confirm, you are suggesting that the layer containing the video should be the topmost layer in the particular slide?
Will try out this option and let you know soon.
Thanks.
Hi Magda
If the videos won't autostart in an iPad, I would need to give an additional play button functionality on the slides containing videos?
Hi Ashley
I am viewing the LMS version on Safari browser and the web version on Articulate Mobile Player.
Hi Veena -
I don't think it needs to be the topmost layer, but any object that covers the video, including transparent objects, will make it unresponsive to a tap.
Hi Veena,
Thanks for the additional information. Let us know if Lucas's suggestion helps!
Hi All,

It would be great if you'll can help me resolve the video issue in iPad.
Thanks. Looking forward to your response.
Hi Veena,
I tested your file, by loading it up here and it played fine within the AMP.
I also loaded it again without the AMP setting, and was able to play it fine in mobile Safari.
Can you tell us which video is not working?
Hi Ashley,
Thanks for your help! I will check these links on an iPad and let you know.
A quick confirmation - Did you change any publishing settings or you have directly published the shared files?
Hi Veena,
No settings changed, except on the second publish I did not publish for the AMP. The first one included all your original settings.
Ashley Terwilliger,
I am facing the same issue, as a test run I have published 2 slides and uploaded in articulate online. the video files are not running from iPad. Please let me know how can I resolve this issue.
Hi MPC,
I see that you also posted over here, where you indicated the videos you're working with are SWF files, which are not supported on the iPad in HTML5 or the Articulate Mobile player.
Hello Articulate.
I continue being completely stumped with this issue. In the attached file, I cannot either play the video on the 2nd page, or even display the video controls.
In the source, I tried a million different configurations and combination of
Nothing works. all I get is the first frame of the video
PC and Android seem to work, but iPad does not - i tried Safari and an alternative browser.
I am on iPad 3 retina / iOS 7
Also, here are the links to all different combinations I tried. None is working on ipad
Please share your thoughts as this is an extremely serious situation for us, especially after investing in SL2 licences.
I thank you in advance.
This seems to be an issue with Storyline 2. If I take your video, add it to a SL1 slide, republish and run it on my iPad, the video plays as expected. See here a quick test.
Yes, this is indeed an issue with SL2, which is precisely my point. It is SL2 I am interested in now, and it is crusial for me that SL2 video works right, not just SL1.
Thank you
Also, it looks like the iOS8 plays the videos, so we are narrowing the problem down to SL2 and iOS7.
Hi Misha,
Sorry we missed this yesterday - and I don't see that you opened up a support case yet. Do you have a sample that you could share with us here or that you could share with our Support team as Michael mentioned? We've seen the issue in iOS8 and it was corrected in Update 1 of Storyline 2 as detailed here.
