Hello from Oregon

Hello all - My name is Valerie, and I work at ODOT.  I am brand new to Articulate and didn't get a chance for a turnover from my predecessor, so I am trying to learn as much as I can about Articulate as fast as possible.  I will need to update some of our existing training as well as create new training modules for our users. Some of this is very time sensitive.  If you have any specific training videos that could help me get up to speed quickly, that would be most helpful.  Thank you so much!

    Hello Karla,

Thanks for reaching out.  ODOT doesn't have openings right now.  There's actually a hiring freeze due to budget constraints.  I wish you the very best in your job search, though!

    Hi Valerie,

I am in instructional designer that has gone through the AIDA program and have created a module in both Storyline and Rise.  I live near Salem.  Does ODOT have any ID current or near future openings?

Thank you very much, Noele.  Good advice!  We have a lot of existing Storyline training modules that I will need to modify, so that's why I was looking at Storyline to start with.  Really appreciate your help!

Happy to help and here to steer you in the direction of any training that might help you get up to speed if needed!

  • Hey VJSoderquist ! Welcome to the community, we're glad you're here. I've been there before in terms of not getting a ton of training and onboarding, I feel you! Is there anything in particular you're looking to learn first? I would recommend starting by exploring our Training Hubs.

I also think a good strategy if you don't have a ton of time to get up to speed is to build as much as you can in Rise, which generally has a much less steep learning curve, and then if you hit any places where you need more customized functionality, learn to do only those things in Storyline. Let me know if that helps!
